Deep in Space

I wanted to upload a basic channel mix for a long time. This one landed directly in the drawer after recording it, because it wasn´t that mixing and choice of tracks i imagined. That was at the mid november this year.

Yesterday i opened that drawer and listened to this mix several times now and i thought, i have to upload it.
..
It´s not the best mixing, mastering and so, there should be hundreds mixes more better than this. I like it spontaneous and real, like always and like i have done it before.
...
This is for all the basic channel lovers and those who will be and of course for all others too. ;-)
....

Basic Channel Mix

a 2 hour cut from a 9 hour session, i mixed at january of this year 2016.

Everything i do on soundcloud or did (the last years)on my closed blog is selfmade, the recordings, photography or covers, with less exceptions.
..
It is for relaxing, especially by riding my bike and hearing the music i love.
...
So i thought, "why should i keep that just with me, i should share it with you." Maybe you can´t buy records, or paint some pictures, do photos or haven´t a bicycle.
But you can hear these mixes and maybe you can feel what i feel.
....
So this is why i do that, it´s for my bicycle, me and you. Lets drive away...

Do you remember the time, if you could hear the whole music & video archiv of the Mutek festival on their official webpage. 
It was the time you could do that on the Sonar webpage, too. I was very sad, if these archives go off, for me it was like being in heaven.

I don´t know the exactly year of that live session anymore from Cobblestone Jazz. I think it was around 2003 and so outstanding if i heard it at that time, more than 10 years ago. 
.
I don´t like their newer productions that much, for me that live session is the real one Cobblestone Jazz.

Dub Techno [Vinyl Only]

Ambient / D&B / Breakbeat Selection [Vinyl Only]

After many years from 2004, that mix come across to me today. I rember to it like it was yesterday.

The recording was done with Ableton without any (midi)controller and other useful/helpful things, just with the computer keyboard and mouse. It was a test recording to do djing with Ableton and not Steinberg or Traktor without any vinyl or timecode records.
That was at a time - around 2000/2001  - i changed from digital Djing (i did at the end of 90´s with the very first Traktor DJ Version) to djing with vinyl and mostly only vinyl since now.

That is a part of my own history and i like the recording with choice of music...

Sutekh was always on my want&watchlist if it was about to take a look of new modern electronic music at the mid/end of 90´s. Like stuff of Safety Scissors, Twerk, Farben, Scape~, Kit Clayton, Mille Plateaux, Boogizm, and so on...

I am a big fan of the early "Clicks´n Cutz" sound and for sure of  Sutekh and his Context.FM label and of course of the early Mutek (CA) Festival.

An excerpt from a live recording i have done with ableton more than 10 years ago. I started with the 1st version of Ableton for programming and Native Instruments Synths for tweaking at the end of 90s. All for fun and to explore and get more knowledge about Synthesizers. And all ends with that recording...

The whole track is played live, without any arrangement, controllers, just my keyboard, mouse and copy & paste ;-)

What to say about Boards of Canada? I think everybody know them, even aliens are listening to them. They are so high on top of my list of favourite artists, maybe i couldn´t imagine a life without them.

I have a lot of records of them and it´s cool to hear it on vinyl at midsummer or autumn, winter. It doesn´t matter which summer or time it is. But sometimes i am very lazy, too. And it´s stressful to change the record, therefore i thought to make a selection of my favourite tracks of them...

Cristian Vogel, one of the main man behind the "Brighton Techno" music (szene) shows his other musical talent with this little live set at the Sonar by Day around 2003. 

Like the Mutek Festival did the Sonar Festival the same and archived all their shows at the beginning. But they deleted the archiv, too... very sad...

Enjoy listening and check out his releases on several labels like Tresor, Novamute, Mille Plateaux, SubRosa or Mosquito, as well his Collaborations especially with Jamie Lidell called Super Collider.

ROMAN FLUEGEL at SonneMondSterne 2003

These were great times if you came home at late night and you could choose between the Clubnight best of electronic music live on tv or chillout music by Space Night with their magic visuals and earthviews.

A historical time of german tv program at the 90´s, we lost and miss.

The HR-XXL Clubnight was a weekly live show with invited international dj´s and producers who spinned some records on Technics turntables and a Rodec Mixer live on tv, the Hessischer Rundfunk Channel, a regional tv channel at Germany.
Sometimes they streamed live from clubs at Frankfurt, which all happened mostly at the 90´s.

I have to say i am not a big fan of Ricardo Villalobos nowadays, but i don´t follow him since a couple years now. For me his musical development doesn´t happen or is to boring. 

This is a set i thought about it after many years yesterday. It is not the whole recording and i don´t know where i got it, but i have it - maybe - since 2001 and it was and is a trademark and very engrave to me.

For me the best 66 minutes of Ricardo Villalobos all time. A superb selection and mixing...

I have this on cd with high quality and didn´t found any similar recording of this. So i thought i will upload it...

An old & unique Aitor Ronda mix,  i recorded around 2004 from the original Sonar webpage. It is the mix from him at the Sonar Festival 2003 and was very 

inspirational to me at this time. I heard it nearly every day... 
But i haven´t heard it since years now. (But I thought about this set and dj the last years.) 
So i thought, let´s see if i find this mix somewhere at my very old compact discs.

At the time around 2003 the Sonar Festival and Mutek Festival gave their listener and visitor the opportunity to hear all their past shows in an archive on 

their webpage with an alphabetical order. Additional the Sonar Festival webpage had some video streams of the most shows, too.

It was insance and is so sad, that both Festivals deleted the whole archives.

a sloppy failed pretty x-mas mix

Allright, this is a new one from the archives of the Mutek Festival i recorded years & years ago.

I have had a lot of recordings from the Mutek archive, but sadly i lost the most.

The Mutek festival was an incredible inspiration to me at that time and i always wished to be there sometimes.

So this recording is from Matthew Patterson Curry also known as Safety Scissors and member of Pigeon Funk or Moron.

I was a big lover of that fresh electronic music scene from the San Francisco area around the late 90s and beginning of the 00s. With their releases on labels like Plug Research, Onitor, Context, Mille Plateaux, ~Scape, Force Tracks, ...

Sometimes i miss that time very much, sometimes...

Today after more than +10 years i found an old compact disc i created with some recordings from the time around 2002-2003. 

One recording is this one from Swayzak that i downloaded at the end of 2003 - somewhere around the internet. I didn´t hear it more than +10 years now and i´m a little bit stunned & full of flashbacks.

Normally i don´t upload livesets or dj sets you can find around the internet elsewhere now, but this one is worth it.
