Brand DNA Is Everything

Brand DNA is a beacon of light that guides the agency. 

It holds creatives – and their work – accountable.

Geography, societies and ethnicities often define a brand.

Brands have a lifecycle and need to be nurtured.

We must separate the muck away from the brand.

A brand manifesto helps us remain true to original intentions.

Brands that know what they stand for set the category direction.

Brands that don’t know what they stand for copy leaders.

A clear belief-set is essential to both understanding brand DNA and creating breakout ideas.

'The Trap' is a hole you fall into when training with more advanced jiu-jitsu athletes. Before you know it, you're in deep waters, just fighting to survive. This is the story as it happens on the mats, many times, everyday.

Originally written for the ENEMY brand, we decided not to use this audio, but instead, release it here just for fun. 

It's still a little raw, but could be redone for a short video.

Disruption kills brands because disruptive brands find a better way. Disruption kills agencies because it shows non-disruptive agencies ways they never considered. But this is only 50 percent of the story because disruption has also built some of the best agencies to date. My thoughts in this short audio track.

Why Disruption Kills Brands & Agencies

I've wanted to read the Purge EBS (Emergency Broadcast System) announcement for long time now – and felt 2020 was the year to do it. I (re)built the audio, so it lacks some of the threatening drone and dynamic pan of the original. I used Monster Truck Rally stylised delay and feedback to give the ANNCR voice an analog TV feel. I hope you like it. Blessed be our New Founding Fathers and America, a Nation Reborn.
