Sketch for a set of variations of the theme of 'non-place'. 

It uses static and unstable chords - basically any that don't really have a direction -, the instability of glissandi, as well as some 'non-rhymes' like alone/drowned and mirage/courage.

'Non-place' is an idea (coined by Marc Augé) about places that have no identity, that can be anywhere in the world because they're so generic. Like a hotel room, a motorway, or the escalators like in the photo.

Lassana Bathily saved the live of a lot people during the jihadist hostage-taking close to the Charlie Hebdo massacre as employee of a supermarket in Paris. In an interview he described the noises of the machine gun and his and the saved people fears. His exclamatory remarks which gave a horrific impression of the circumstances is the material of this homage to the hero of Paris.
