This is the playlist from my recent set for an evening with the author Kevin Sampson and his book AWAYDAYS. Every track is from 1979 (when the book is set) or a couple of years earlier. It's everything that the main protagonist and his friend would have been listening to at the time.

AWAYDAYS

We simply cherish the grade-A djs and producers The Patchouli Brothers, and their contribution to the Caffeine Supreme series. 
These Canadians first got their beats wet, throwing down parties in an Albanian dive bar in Toronto. They have since flavored a spectrum of the city's establishments, played parties from California to Amsterdam, often alongside their peers Horse Meat Disco, joey Negro, John Morales and Psychemagik to name a few. Not bad Canada!

Dig into a sparkling mix of raw and eclectic disco, jazz, soul, gospel & house. Wow, they actually got it all - dancable too!!
