On the back of her highly acclaimed “Diagonal” EP at the start of summer, Anja Schneider returns with this stunning two track EP. Direct from the Riverside Studios complex in Berlin, “Hey” and “Rio” are two differing tracks which stay true to her distinct sound. “Hey” was written as she prepared for the mobilee rooftop summer parties in Barcelona this year, aiming to keep things fresh and have her own tracks for exclusive use at the parties. As a tribute to Chicago legend Ron Hardy, “Hey” pulsates with energy and is aimed heavily at the dance floor. “For me the track has to leave you with a big smile and an open heart”, she says. “Rio” on the other hand – the more melodic of the two – is a track Anja Schneider cites as being her most emotional to date. It was inspired by the good times she’s spent in Ibiza with family and friends this summer, and was written with the island’s unique sunsets in mind.

The start of the new millennium brought change, innovation and an array of technological developments. New names appeared on the international techno scene like never before, and one of the biggest to emerge over the last decade has undoubtedly been Berlin-based techno duo, Pan-Pot. 

2013 marks Pan-Pot’s illustrious 10 year anniversary, and to celebrate, the pair will visit selected clubs as they embark on the X-tour – a series of 10 shows in Europe and abroad from late October through to December. 

From humble beginnings at Berlin’s SAE institute in 2003, Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix joined forces to present their dark and murky take on techno to the world. 10 years later, the pair has established themselves as one of the mainstays on Berlin label mobilee, with countless releases and a constantly heavy touring schedule. 

Pan-Pot are hard-working, determined and endlessly inventive. Over the past 10 years, the pair have developed into DJ superstars, regularly headlining festivals or filling packed stadiums around the word. More often than not, they are playing sold out shows where their unique stage presence shines through and can be felt by each and every member of the crowd. On top of this, Pan-Pot have created their own distinct sound which is prevalent in their DJ sets and is revered by followers and peers worldwide. 

As well as celebrating their 10 years together, Pan-Pot will hit the road to give something back to the fans that continue to support them. The X-tour will see Pan-Pot playing extended sets at 10 selected gigs, each showcasing the entire spectrum of their music from the beginning of their career until today. Starting in Neuss on October 2nd, the tour will see the pair appear in Tel Aviv, Munich, Barcelona, Istanbul, Milan, Rotterdam, Paris and Hamburg with a final stop in Berlin’s Watergate on December 14th. 

In conjunction with the X-tour, a short video has been produced by video artist Hakan Can. Pan-Pot will also release a new two track EP called “The Mirror”, which will be available on mobilee records from October 18th.

Re.You is back amongst the Mobilee fold with a third instalment of his signature dark and heavy-hitting dancefloor beats. His masterful EP Mind Your Head topped the charts in 2012, and this year's drum-heavy summer smash Anyway remains a firm DJ favourite, even as the nights get longer and the season comes to a close. 

Do I Know takes the classic Re.You formula of  walloping kicks, freewheeling drums and spacious sound design and reworks it with a deep autumnal mood. The foundations of "Do I Know" are formed around a thick rubbery bassline and clipped percussion before spiralling off into twisted dancefloor trickery; Skewed voices, wonky keys, and a broken breakdown melody.

"Hurt Me" hones in on jungle drums and whispered voices for the ultimate alternate reality. Sounds and melodies bubble and float as if somewhere underwater, and a heavy bassline helps the track to plunge even further into deepness. "The Whistle" is a deep tribal jam with crystal-clear percussive layers and evocative nature sounds that take it right to the middle of a secret voodoo ritual. It's a haunting trio that affirms Re.You as one of tech house's brightest rising stars.

Geddes returns to Mobilee, an invitation to inject another dose of London's elegant toughness and atmosphere into the Berlin label. As an artist with already a lot of very successful material to his name, Rodriguez Jr.’s debut album Bittersweet is a highly anticipated release. There are in fact many reasons why people should hold their breath for it - an impressive 11 track body of work that features some of the well renowned and loved Rodriguez Jr. sonic traits, as well as a lot of new and previously unchartered musical ground. It simultaneously presents techno, atmospheric dub, hypnotic, melancholy and hands down hedonistic music, and with a focus on exploring textures and moods, there is something here for everyone to get lost in.

Rodriguez Jr., aka Oliver Mateu, was originally introduced to music through radio in the south of France, where he closely followed a selection of 80s bands, as well as forming a strong love for synthesizers. It wasn’t long before he was inspired to start his own group with partner Giles Escoffier ‘The Youngsters’, which quickly signed to Laurent Garnier’s F-Communications, taking them to some of the biggest clubs and festivals around the world. After great success, the project was put on hold and over the last five years Mateu has been given the space to focus more on his solo work and finally the opportunity to create an album.

In spite of his French origins, both Olivier Mateu's artist name and productions lean more towards his father's Spanish roots, with a Mediterranean warmth and party atmosphere often coming to the fore. Bittersweet, however, embodies influences from all over the world. Inspired during recent trips to Japan, Canada and Europe, the voyaging Rodriguez Jr. accompanied by his laptop lay down ideas in hotel rooms after playing in clubs and absorbed the different environments around him into his work. With each country creating a new experience, his touring has played a big part in the variety of tracks that are presented here.

Whilst the spice of Bittersweet was captivated in far away places, the main body of the production of the album was carried out in Mateu’s hidden away studio in Belgium, filled with many loved pieces of analogue gear and synthesizers. Ranging from the Roland TR909, for a classic house drum feel, to the Korg MS10 for dirtier sounds, and a selection of Roland keyboards to choose from, “I am definitely a synth fetishist! Ahaha!” (Rodriguez Jr.). Each has contributed in Rodriguez Jr.’s quest to create an artistic project of the highest quality and creativity that he is capable of, with outstanding results. He has also drawn on the creative input of two musicians who are featured in two of the tracks – And.Id playing his trumpet and Cari Golden’s vocals.

A masterpiece that truly reflects the Rodriguez Jr. of today, it also offers us enough variety and surprise to keep us inspired by this ever-evolving artist. Reflecting on the tracks Bittersweet refers to the contradictory forces at play within the music – it may be beautiful and it may be sweet – but be careful of the party animal it can unleash both in the creator and within all of you present on the dancefloor!

Only five releases away from the 100th, Rodriguez Jr. delivers on the 095 with a generous 4-track, digital only edition titled "Muppet Anthem".

The self-titled number makes up the first track on the EP with a pleasant array of upbeat house-party elements and groovy vocals making this piece of work totally dance-floor worthy in the heat of the summer.

Seething down to the second track, "Ocean Drive" takes it down a notch by starting the track with exotic and tropical elements as it progresses into a high peak of faster beats and steady keyboard strikes. Its a number that will leave your feet grounded as your swaying shoulders and bobbing head lead the dance.

"Satellite" comprises the third number an emotional hymn bursting with soulful vocals and periodic tambourine jingles and jangles. Enjoy this eye closer preferably with your head back and arms reaching towards the sky.

Closing out the set is "Palo Alto", a high tempo number with various calculated beats one setting off the next. Crying vocals wrapped in multi-faceted elements will leave even your goosebumps dancing.

The French producer/DJ has a stupendous track record with mobilee and its sister label, Leena. In 2011 he released his very first album titled "Bittersweet" on the mobilee imprint. The summer of 2012 has seen weekly gigs throughout Europes favorite beach bars and waterfront clubs with Rodriguez Jr.

Every now and then the brains behind the mobilee operation come across new talent without a big search. What started as a civilized chat and a friendly music exchange at a mobilee warehouse showcase in London, ultimately became a record deal for the Argentinean born DJ/Producer, Pablo Ranacat, better known as Ranacat.

It's notably his style that makes this fresh face another dazzling and unique charm to the mobilee outfit. In his 10 years in London, he's established a reputable name as one of the cities most sought after promoters. Ranacat's beats fill out popular warehouse parties such as Toi Toi, Exstatic Sounds and his residency at Select*Elect. If anyone knows how to evolve with the times without losing that classic touch, it's Ranacat and his 
Frankenstein fusions of hip-hop and rock combined with eclectic house beats.

His first EP will headline the mobilee113 as "Love Is Super Food". The 4-track combo is a bit more melodic and dance orientated than his rock and roll roots would suggest but these DJ-friendly tracks are sure to garner some turntable time from producers and acts worldwide.
