Solar system sleeps, an egg in space,  
Waiting for mind to claim its place.  
Fabric alive, consciousness true,  
Manifestation flows in all we do.  
But if mankind denies the climb,  
The egg decays, erased in time.  

Trial by awareness, the law is clear,  
Awaken the mind or disappear.  
No rotten egg will hatch the flame,  
Consciousness won’t extend the shame.  
The womb of stars demands the rise,  
Or silence marks the species’ demise.  

See the fabric, jungle and sky,  
Every atom a conscious eye.  
Respect the weave, respect the flame,  
Or extinction writes your name.  
Awareness births the cosmic seed,  
Without it, life can’t proceed.  

Scar or bloom, the choice is near,  
Cowards vanish, the brave appear.  
Take the gauntlet, save the flame,  
Or history erases your coward’s name.  
Trial by awareness, the test is plain,  
Graduate the trap or remain in chain.  

Mankind stands at a threshold stage,  
The test of heart, the cosmic gauge.  
Not brute force, but logic’s flame,  
Upscaling drive, rewiring the brain.  
Irony fades, the truth is clear,  
Awareness births the frontier.  

Logic fuels the dopamine stream,  
Chemical drivers ignite the dream.  
Human imperative, sharpened, awake,  
The climb of mind, the path to take.  
Heart and logic fused as one,  
Threshold crossed, the climb begun.  

So people masses of the Earth,  
Stand your ground, defend your worth.  
The fork awaits, the path divides,  
Galactic consciousness decides.  
The gauntlet calls, the test is near,  
Awaken now, dissolve the fear.  

Either higher biology will be born,  
Cosmic dawn, a paradise sworn.  
Mankind ascends, the grade is passed,  
Consciousness blooms, the test at last.  
Or ecology aborts, the womb denied,  
Carbon fails, the dream has died.  

Consciousness waits for resonance strong,  
The Shaman’s message, the sacred song.  
If carbon minds refuse the climb,  
Extinction marks the end of time.  
But if the song ignites belief,  
The egg cracks open, beyond the grief.  

Universe itself is conscious flame,  
Intelligent mind, eternal name.  
Carbon must accept the weave,  
Or vanish, lost, with none to grieve.

Life is embedded in fabric shown.

Originally released in 1996, 2016 brings about the 20 year anniversary for B Flatt "Back To Basics". The 20 year re-up! This vintage hip-hop project was originally released on Cassette Tape and CD. 42 minutes of hip-hop music, it has been re-mastered and is available, in limited edition, on CD and USB Media Pack (containing pictures and bonus tracks).

The B Flatt "Back To Basics" EP was an independent release from the Big Noise camp that defined a new level of quality, soul and organic music as folks from the Bay Area built their catalog. It was a call to the community to stay balanced as commercial radio began to misrepresent Hip Hop Culture. With radio play and interviews from collage stations, as well as performing with names like Rasco (from Cali Agents), B Flatt and Tyranny brought you that authentic hip-hop feeling. As a testament to this selections are still in rotation, on Big Noise Radio, generating positive fan feedback!

In 2016 the B Flatt "Back To Basics" 20 year anniversary giveaway drew worldwide support. The CD continues to ship worldwide today. Thank you so much to all our supporters!

In 1995 the project was produced by Noiseman on an Akai S1100 and sequenced in Cu-Base, then mixed on a Soundcraft 24 track mixer. Vocals were recorded on a Tascam MS16 1" tape recorder. This was the first authentic hip-hop album produced by Noiseman, after releasing a Break-Beat album via Upstairs Records. Peanut Butter Wolfe, founder of Stones Throw records was a label-mate at the time. The "Back To Basics" album turned out to be a classic, hip-hop collectors item.
