We just literally can't get enough of the German duo Piemont who have been consistently feeding us 110% top quality deep house for the last 3 years. Save me is out soon on Definition:Music and clearly shows how the duo keeps constantly evolving and innovating. The track is characterized by the very Piemont:ish funky percussion and drums but takes a slightly more progressive, melodic approach reminding us a lot of artists such as Ten Walls and Hernan Cataneo. German duo Piemont deliver a two-track single via Zurich’s Definition:Music this March entitled ‘Save Me / Elastic’.

Frederic Moering-Sack and Christian De Jonquieres aka Piemont have been releasing their distinctive twisted style of house music over a decade now via the likes of Exploited, Terminal M, Skint, Area Remote and of course Definition:Music where they return to here. A label which has played host to material from the likes of Darius Syrossian, Josh Butler, Reboot, Nick Curly and many more.

Up first on the package is ‘Save Me’, a progressive tension fuelled composition laid out over six minutes with elongated bass drones, sweeping synth swells, atmospheric chord progressions and a rhythmic shuffle.

‘Elastic’ follows and rounds out the release, opting for a more reserved approach via tumbling organic percussion and bulbous bass drones alongside a dynamic, evolving synth hook and snaking synth whirrs and vocal hums.

Piemont’s ‘Save Me’ EP is out on Definition:Music 6th March 2017.

Lucky number thirteen on San Francisco's @Manjumasi comes from label co-founder Atish. Following hot on the heels of last year's solo debut "Peculiar Colors," Atish returns to the label in fine form with a trio of collaborations. Each named after an amphibian or reptilian creature, the three tracks showcase Atish's musical range.

First up is Bullfrog, produced together with fast-rising German talent @timengelhardt. A chunky percussive bass groove drifts over liquid smooth lily-pads, laying a foundation for the quirky, croaking synth riff that makes the track's heady hook. Second on the package is Chameleon, a collaboration with label co-founder @mcslee. This one is a driving melodic groover that oscillates between musical colors, with a light floating pad melody and slip-sliding glissando synth playing counterpoint to edgy stabs. Rounding out the package is Tortoise, a team effort with SF talent @bengalsf. Like the animal, this tune is slow-moving and wise, demonstrating strength through patience in the form of a groove that gently meanders and builds with rich detail.
