Also known as a bit of a joker which we experienced the first time he came to play for us. Pretending to be way over the limit with booze he was due to get on the decks to play. Concerned about his ability to hold court , Yogh decided to call Tristan da Cunha to ask advice on what he should do ? Should he let him play in such a drunken state or should he let him do his thing? 

As it turned out Truly was just joking and went on to smash it like he does and made this wonderful T-shirt to add to the joke. What a punchline …

It’s a properly transcendent Kalahari debut as S.A.M. makes nods to ’90s Eurodance and deeper, spiritual invocations.

At the helm of multiple labels, but this marks a Kalahari debut for the Danish artist. Sometimes anthemic, sometimes operating from a more meditative space, but always serving as an outlet for ecstatic release. Rapturous big room ascension into more contemplative territory.

Channelling some divine NRG in the vocal hooks, and like much of their work, an air of blissed intent cloaks the whole thing. A suite of tech and deep house striking balance between the introspective and direct, the metaphysical and corporeal.

Pitting sonic immersion against forward momentum has almost become a blueprint for any Kalahari release, and here, we bear witness to a prime example. Heady stuff.

Had a lot of fun putting this together, digging through my record collection spanning tracks from the last 30 years and some new releases too. A mixture of vinyl and digital, journeying through deeper sounds, tribal tech, early 00's UK tech house, breakbeat and acid-infused tracks, building up to dark/dubby prog, some groovy techno and finishing up with one of my all time faves, a classic Capricorn piano rave track from 1992.
