Stereo to Mono
Neon hum drifts over concrete, rising and collapsing in the city’s nocturnal hush. Stereo soundwaves flicker, darting left and right, bulging in alleyways, spilling into midnight windows—a dynamic conversation humming with possibility. But in the midst of stereo’s pulse, an ancient line vibrates: mono, unapologetically direct. It remembers afternoons before split channels, before division, when every thump was a universal heartbeat. Mono moves silently, steadily—subtle as a memory, sincere as a starting point—threading through stereo’s complexity with a quiet desire for wholeness.
Just before dawn, the city breathes in. Left and right channels converge, folding sound back into itself, collecting all echoes to a centred place. For a brief moment, unity isn’t a memory; it’s live, electric—a single, shimmering wave. From many voices, one note; from stereo to mono, genuine and indivisible.

Bio/
Monosphere, aka Jeroen Smulders from The Netherlands, is the founder of Deep Electronics, a deep music-related podcast and netlabel that searches the deep diversity in music. He came in contact with electronic music back in the 80s, with music from Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. In the 90s, he explored the many genres like techno, ambient and Goa/ Psychedelic trance, but also more artists from back in the day like Klaus Schultz and Kraftwerk. In later years, the interest in more experimental and deeper electronic music led him to dubtechno and dub-related subgenres. In 2013, he started his channel to collect this music and other genres in tracks and guest mixes from around the world, combined with his own photography.

grad_u (Aleksandr Martinkevič) is a Vilnius-based DJ, producer, and label owner, widely recognized as one of the key figures in the modern deep and dub techno scene. Active for over two decades, he has shaped a career that bridges multiple roles — from local DJ to international tastemaker — while maintaining a distinctive and coherent sonic identity.
Originally rooted in d’n’b, his artistic direction shifted after hearing Fluxion’s Prospect II, a transformative moment that steered him toward the immersive depths of dub techno. Since then, his sound — suspended between natural landscapes and urban geometries — has evolved through the use of analog textures, tape recording, and a painterly approach to production.

In 2012, he founded Redscale, his first vinyl-only label, created to host his own work and soon acclaimed worldwide. Yet it was with the launch of Greyscale that grad_u expanded his vision into a fully realized curatorial project. With more than 80 releases and contributions from artists across six continents, Greyscale’s Mood Series has become one of the genre’s most respected and enduring catalogues — a global meeting point for established and emerging producers alike.

Palpebræ Label Mix 03: Greyscale [mixed by grad_u]

Kyoto-based DJ and producer Yuddy Ash has been steadily finding his voice over the past few years. Following a series of online appearances and a collaboration with silkscreen. on GIFKIKKER, he now joins the Delayed with series with a mix that favors movement through restraint, using rhythm as a thread rather than a tool of impact.

Across sixty-one minutes, it unfolds with a steady pulse, subtle shifts, and a lightness in tone. It’s a late-night listen that moves from deep low-end flow to airy percussion. The transitions are soft, almost invisible, yet the direction remains clear, a quiet reminder that less can still move plenty.
