MS: Hi RYBA! How are you spending the quarantine? Did it bring anything new into your life?
RYBA:  I spent the quarantine with my children at home in Berlin. We played a lot, created fun art and learned new things together. Before the quarantine started, I got a driver license and bought the car.  So I was practicing driving, went to the nature.
MS: What has inspired you for recording the mix for Moonsisters?
RYBA: I got inspiration from the music, from the records that I bought in winter time. I’ve been thinking of recording a mix for a long time. Here you can listen to my live improvisation and recordings from the home studio.

In the 16th episode of the #Sonogramma podcast dedicated to ambient and experimental music from the @ssi-records label, the curator of the podcast, Ilia @symphocat, presents the mix that includes meditative compositions by the Moscow-based project 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐈𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲.

On the path of creative research, the musical project July in January constantly returns to the enveloping form of melancholic memories and sentimental moods, exploring their personal anxious experiences and states. The track called "This night I met Gianluigi Gasparetti", which is the main motive of the podcast, was recorded by the author in one night in the long improvise session. The created musical structure is dedicated to the legendary Gianluigi Gasparetti (Oöphoi), who became, for July In January, a pioneer in Drone music and had a great influence on sound thinking. Also in the podcast there are several tracks from the album "In Memory for Everyone Who Disappeared" released early on SSI label and which was recorded in live improvisational sessions during pandemic 2020.

Beda is the self proclaimed spook of Langstrasse! He's been an avid record collector for the most part of his life and as an eraly 90's raver and Dj he grew up with electronic music and was part of pathing the way to what electronic nightlife in Zurich resembles. No stranger to the booths of clubs or festivals like "Dachkantine" or "Nation of Gondawana", there is no doubt to the fact, that he knows what he's doing. Beeing employed in a recordstore for several years, led to a huge recordcollection, of which he picked a few favorites for us and recorded an absolute masterclass of a Guestmix. Lucky us! Double Sound² presents the 12th podcast from the Moscow-based techno duo Poima. The duo consists of two producers: Alexander Lestyukhin and Semen Caspian Kid. Poima's distinctive feature is their live acts using analog synths.

2014 marked the starting point for Poima. They played their first live acts at Moscow clubs Solyanka and Arma17. This was followed by performances at Outline, as well as at the Superslet festival during the season closing of the Street Art Museum in Saint Petersburg. As a result, Poima was invited to perform at Boiler Room Moscow (http://boilerroom.tv/recording/poima/).

Poima's music is analog techno, characterized by the frequent repetition of structural elements, the use of synths, improvisation during live acts, and originality in their creations. Poima has managed to bring new ideas to techno music. Without a doubt, techno is being reborn in Russia, and Poima is a vivid example of this.
