My from-scratch recreation of the track "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul) B-Side (the "It's Time" version) by Hashim from 1983. A full recreation done completely by me! Only the vocal and some parts of the scratching are sampled. Enjoy my rendition of this classic electro-funk song.

This would be the earliest recording of myself that I have ever posted. This was recorded even before my Acid Junky tapes. I passed out about 50 of these in Los Angeles in the fall of 1993. The master did not survive but I had a 2nd generation dub that was in bad shape. The restoration that Jim Hopkins has done for it is absolutely remarkable!! It sounds so clean and nice and wonderful. Turn it up and take a trip back to 1993 Los Angeles.

Something I put together for the memory of SFdisco legend Scott Friedel (of the Hardkiss Brothers) and healing in the community touched by this artist. This is still a rough draft yet. I don't have a proper comedown for the ending. It's not all Hardkiss material, though evocative of the spirit of early SF house culture. Altogether, it's indicative of my warm wishes for him & his memory.
