Anfisa Letyago - Awakenings New Years 2023

A curated series where we commission artists to make a mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce and what they listen to.

The latest Mesh mix arrives in the form of bristolian artist and producer, Thomas Ridley. Cutting his teeth in the world of analogue electronic composition and live performance. Thomas takes a collage-like approach to recording and resampling a small collection of analogue instruments, in search of compositions that are imaginative and unwieldy. 

This mix showcases the dark, often euphoria inducing, clubbier sounds to his musical palette, and at intervals applying a psy-bending-repetitive blend of beats, tones, vocals and stabs. Listen loud.

I got many requests for this set, and today is the day I finally upload it! 
My set from one of my new favorite festivals, Mit Dir, is now live on my SoundCloud page. 
Whether you want to relive the moment or hear what you missed, now's your chance.

The set includes a wide range of rolling techno bangers, groovy tech-house gems, some cheesy, melancholic tracks, but also happy driving songs that perfectly fit the festival vibe. 

You'll find an exclusive intro version of my Collab with Township Rebellion, "Your Reality," along with many unreleased tracks from me and my friends. 

I've been busy with a lot of coaching and preparing for other gigs at Ritter Butzke and Praerie Festival, but I believe the wait was worth it.

@ninaeba’s debut album sees the Ukrainian DJ, producer and vocalist relating to the metamorphosis of the blue morpho butterfly, with tracks spanning R&B and art-pop with elements of breakbeat and bass.

"With the song 'MONDAY', I reflect my hate for social media," she explains. "Seeking some balance, I often find myself stuck, getting lost in plastic content and cheap dopamine. The song 'MONDAY' is about this pain and the promise to myself to break free from this addiction, to go beyond being a typical content consumer. This is probably my favourite song from the album."

A couple weeks ago on a beautiful Monday afternoon about one and a half hours away from Berlin we had the great pleasure to close one of this Summer’s definite highlights for us – the amazing and completley out of the ordinary FEEL festival. Thank you so much for encouraging us to embark on a musical journey that went way beyond the relentless Techno we love to play, and let us go with the flow of a beautifully spaced-out crowd around us and the magical vibe of that place at that exact time.
