I believe that 2016 has ripped us into a bitter duality..

We have much more in common than that which divides us
But productive debating is essential for progress

We fund the houses of parliament
not to represent us in these childish arguments
As we discuss and work through the different points of view
We need to find something that we all can agree to

No one person or group can know how to govern      
As society moves collectively
With each to another

We suffer the divide and conquer 
at the hand of a political entrepreneur
but as the distance grows between us
I feel us expand our collective conscience

We may not have long left
As the tide is rising and resources wasted
Tensions dividing and inciting hatred
 - The human race will obliterate -
Our obsession with excessive consumption will drive us all to death
So act now!  
For our children are watching to see what we do next
