Final Submission for my electroacoustic module this year.

"The name Crank is taken from the initial opening sounds of the piece reminding me of my many years spent mountain biking in the Surrey Hills. The crank of a bike connects the pedal to the bottom bracket essentially is the connection between the rider and the machinery of the bike. Many of the sounds in the piece either conjure up images of metallic chains or creaking trees, which were the two most common sounds on my early morning rides. The more textural section of the piece leaves me with an eerie sense of isolation and could easily be a lonely journey through the misty woodland. "
