"Kids From Broken Homes" breaks genre lines — a mix between dancehall and reggaeton type of music, infused with emotion and attitude the way Rancid would bring it. It's about growing up without roots, fighting for identity, and finding strength in your scars — all wrapped in a beat and poetic lyrics that burn through the cold season.

I actually wrote the lyrics for this song two years ago, at a time when I still didn't know much about my origins. Especially the second verse reflects that uncertainty — being adopted, not knowing where I came from, and feeling lost.

Only this spring I found out who my biological mother was and that I have a sister — and now I know so much more about my roots.

These lyrics no longer feel like confusion and distance, but like a reflection of how far l've come and what I've learned since then.

Alex Hellcat is an artist with passion for doing things his way. His musical style stretches in many directions like a spiderweb. Influenced by punk, ska, reggae and rap, Alex songs are about freedom, old horror flicks and things that keep him awake at night. 
The multitalent records every instrument himself since he's a one man crew. People say Alex sounds like if Rancid and Social Distortion had a baby.
