Libertad(es) Controlada(s) is an interactive piece for Computer, Disklavier® Piano and Performer. It enhances the principle of action/reaction of the three elements alternating between the real, concrete means (acoustic piano, gestures made by the performer) and the abstract ones (computer generated the music, sampled sound of the piano). The link that ties those worlds is a pair of Gloves implementing Sensor Technology that the Performer wears. Through those gloves, gestures of the performer are tracked and converted into data to feed the computer, which will algorithmically generate the music.

The three elements are interdependent and the music is build by direct relationships between them. A small gesture from the performer will generate an action in the computer, this will be perceived by the piano which will play some notes, the performer will react to this perhaps by capturing the sound produced by the piano with a sampler built in the computer. Once in the sampler, the sound could be processed in different ways.

The piece has five sections clearly marked. Sections I, II and V have two smaller sections inside whereas sections III and IV have no sections inside. Sections II and I are built on the principle of question and answer. The question is being asked (played) by the piano, while the answer, is given (sounded) by the computer by playing back the sound (question) and processing it. Section III is a solo section. On it, the piano plays a Modal solo throughout the whole section. Since it is supposed to be played in a lonely way, the computer adds slightly variations of reverberation to play with the idea of sound distance. In Section IV and in Section V piano and computer play simultaneously. In Section IV the computer creates a thick density by adding excessive reverberation and in Section V the computer interferes the dialogue of the piano by playing back samples of the previous section and transposing them at quartertones.

Although the timing is relative, duration of approximately 20 minutes is recommended for performances.

Praxis Leye Pelicae #5 (PLP#5) forma parte de La Frontera Ausente, una obra polisémica conformada por un conjunto de piezas que, a partir de diferentes disciplinas artísticas, abordan distintas inquietudes en torno al lenguaje verbal y no verbal.

PLP#5 surge en forma de ensayo audiovisual intentando proponer una mirada al interrogante acerca de la posibilidad de existencia de un modo de lenguaje: uno que sea absoluto, unívoco e irrevocable.

La propuesta gira en torno al concepto de ruido en la teoría de la comunicación. Para ello se trabajó sobre soporte video pensando en obtener diferentes modos de ruido en momentos diferentes.Se obtuvo así una suerte de archivo de videos y de sonidos que fueron clasificados y ordenados siguiendo una taxonomía traducida posteriormente a una serie de signos pensados para ser dispuestos en una línea narrativa.

Teniendo en cuenta los distintos valores, se construyó una línea narrativa en la que dispusieron los símbolos sonoros por un lado y visuales por otro,por último se intentó traducir dicha idea narrativa al soporte final.
