Here's my take on an Image Challenge for a Facebook composer's group.

BROKEN

This is a composition that I've created for the Image Challenge (20250103) of the FB Composer Challenge Group. It is also my first attempt to compose a classical piece, more specifically a piano concerto.

I've chosen a classical approach because that was how the image resonated to me. A monotone portrait of a young woman that looks like it was torn from a large fresco painting. Her expression summoned melancholy and regrets. The cracks and ripped edges of the image suggested a broken history of her past and yet her elegance hasn't been completely annihilated in the present.

Fractured (Image Challenge Jan 2025 - FB Composer Challenges)

[Verse 1]
Underneath the pitch of the night,
 she prowls the shadowed streets.
A predator with a ruthless hunger,
 drawn to rhythmic heartbeats.
Silently she glides, her eyes like flickering flames.
A whisper of seduction, a hunter with no name.

[Pre-Chorus]
She tastes their longing, their fear, their desire.
In every pulse, a dangerous fire.

[Chorus 1]
Yet she turns away, from the dark and the dread.
For each drop of crimson reveals what they have bled.
She craves a soul untouched by the torture of strife.
In this endless night, she searches for life.

[Verse 2]
In the alley’s shadowed corners, where secrets bury and dwell.
She finds a lover dreaming, lost in a sensual spell.
His soul like a coil, yet to be unspun.
But she hides away, aware of what’s begun.
[Pre-Chorus]
She feels the yearning, the heat, the fire.
In every heartbeat, a pulse of desire.
[Chorus 2]
Yet she steals away, from the lust and shame.
For every sip of passion, she bears the weight of their name.
She seeks a being untouched by regret.
In the velvet of darkness, she is not finished yet.

[Bridge]
On the edge of dawn’s embrace, she finds a wide-eyed soul.
A stranger stunned in wonder, who sees the shine from the coal.
His eyes hold hers, granting a silent invitation.
A crackling of time held still, a wicked sensation.

[Chorus]
She feels his calm, his thrill, his grace.
Memories of her heartbeat would have made.

Mission Impossible

My latest entry to the FB Composer Movie Character Challenge #24 - A Theme based on the characters in Mission Impossible franchise.

I've composed a theme music for the entire Impossible Mission Force (IMF), the organization that Ethan Hunt is working under. The first instrument that came to my mind was the electric guitar. I wanted to establish a fast-paced, exciting and on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind of rhythm that will resembles the over-the-top actions of the franchise. I've also tried to use electric guitar more often these days because of the edginess of its sound. Previously for Mad Max and now for the IMF.
