While the Berlin-based queen of positivity has garnered the support of the usual techno heavyweights, The Red Queen stands as a definitive statement of her production prowess. A driving low end, lush emotional pads, and some absolutely showstopping moments made this one of the releases we were most excited about but were forced to delay until live shows were possible again as this is most certainly a track that needs to be heard on a proper system to appreciate its visceral power. Each track presents individually, each telling their own unique story influenced by the duo’s ever-evolving sound over the years - something that has kept them perpetually current. The culmination also marks a milestone 20th anniversary for the duo, serving as a resounding reminder of why they have been at the forefront of the scene for over two decades.

’FORTE’ meaning strong, translates all the good and bad times we have had, in a way that reflects on our sound. It's a journey of reflection, reinvention, and inspiration from our travels around the world and the people we have met along the way. Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

Intec's new release is from UMEK who is a Slovenian artist accredited with kick-starting the techno scene in his home country, before earning critical acclaim on a global scale when he first started his career in the 90s.

Having released on labels ranging from CLR and Novamute right through to Toolroom, in recent years UMEK's own imprint "1605" has also become a main outlet for his music.

People with a good knowledge of technos history will be more than aware of the impact of UMEKs classics tracks, such as his anthemic Gatex that came out only a few years before his first Intec release in 2005.

Having also collaborated with many influential figures such as Chris Liebing and Joey Beltram, this new solo EP is UMEKs third release on Intec.

Titled Percussionix the EP opens with (Mix 1) which centres around a thick set bassline cut with filter sweeps and full of menacing intent. Leading the track is a combination of tribal percussion loops, which provide the track's main driving force.

Track two is UMEKs alternative mix of Percussionix which titled (Mix 2) has a more refined sound with the raw edges of the percussion being rounded off to smooth the sound, and its bassline is left unfiltered so it becomes more of a gradual sweep that grows with building tension.

Kneaded Pains Boss men Dense & Pika join up with label regulars Melodys Enemy for an epic collaboration, 'From Nothing' is pure main room action with a thunderous kick drum and perfectly honed sonic percussion underpinning the slightly sinister sounding male vocal. Already being hammered by Carl Cox and Adam Beyer this is sure to be one of the years biggest underground hits. Perc takes it into a harder, more streamlined territory on his remix.

A home grown product of the Frankfurt electronic scene, it’s only right that Michael Klein should find his way to Cocoon Recordings. After a string of releases on BLK DRP, Second State and Micro.fon, together with a DJ schedule that’s established him as a well known face on the European techno circuit, destiny has come knocking and the result is a two track EP
that will blow the roof off even the most sturdy of clubs.

Thunder clouds gather on “Yuzu“ - a full-on dose of headstrong, slamming techno. Rampant hi hats, a rasping bass and a frenzied acid riff conjure up a deliberately disorientating electric storm that takes a
certain amount of pleasure in battering the dance floor like a force ten gale. Plastik snare rolls dominate the breakdowns and whip-crack percussion prolong the audio beatings being dished out on
this ‘next generation’ acid-techno.

Klein adds some extra bounce to the raw, pounding beats on “Eureka“, creating a cavernous backdrop that transports you back to the heyday of E-Werk. Then, it’s all aboard the night train as the sounds
gradually morph into some kind of demonic locomotive, hissing and spitting out fire and smoke as it cuts a path through the darkness, hurtling full throttle into the abyss where at- mospheric tempo
changes to the main motif add an extra dimension of mayhem to proceedings.

Warning! Like a surfer waiting for the seventh wave you either rise to the occasion, get on top of these tracks and ride them ecstatically to the shore or you’re gonna find yourself crushed by the relentless
power and energy of Michael Klein’s music... and that’s just the way we like it.
