Welcome to my this month's mix.

Maybe its the winter, or something else, but the mix ended up being a little more rough, intensive and live-y than before. The music is also a little more varied with some techno and some lighter stuff complementing the usual deep house-base. Don't worry, I will (most likely) return to my usual way in April, when I'm releasing my next mix. The next mix will be a little special, as it will be aired first by Finnish Broadcasting Company's YleX-channel as part of their Xmix-series, on April 6th. I will make it available here a week later or so. 

This month I was happy to include some of my old heroes, classic keyboardists Eric Kupper with moody Emeralds and Satoshi Tomiie as remixer of Guti's Keep It. Another "classic" housemaster Kevin Yost is also featured (look closely!). Micha Klang & Kuroneko's track was out already about a year ago, but the Shonky -remix gives it a new lease of life. It's one of my favourite tracks of the moment, for the 90's feel of it. The mix ends with not-so-mysterious JiiHoo's remix of the Billy McKenzie's (The Associates) version of the Randy Newman's haunting classic. This has been by far my favourite track of the year so far. It's coming out mid-March on Kojak Giant Sounds!

First of all: Many thanks to all of you who listen to my mixes. Over 1500 plays so far for the June and April mixes! I'm honored.
 
Welcome to another selection of my recent favourites. A couple of picks: This months mix kicks off with hot summer jam from Monte and its followed by a new single by Stop Modernists (aka Jori Hulkkonen and myself). The song is a cover of Jens Lekman's Pocketful of Money and the single with the Piano Dub – as featured here – will be released on 14th of August on Serenades. Pig & Dan were also featured on my previous mix and they seem to be on a roll. Check out Dusky's new EP, I was close to having two tracks from him on the mix. The last track on the mix comes from Bulgaria! Apparently KiNK is the son of a local club-owner. Great old-school track!

Hi all and welcome to my first mix of the year. It's a mixed bag of goodies, starting with an upbeat house track from Mark Romboy and one of my favourite producers of the moment, KiNK (who has also remixed Rachel Row's Follow The Step, a little further along the mix)! Claptone's new track Wrong and Tube & Berger's In My Dip lead us to Finland's own Roberto Rodriguez's new track Oxymoron from his Dance Like Nobody's Watching -EP on Freerange records. All along excellent tracks, not strictly deep house, but deep house-heavy anyway. Jimpster's vocal track with Dixon's remix is worth a special mention, as I rarely play vocal stuff on the mixes.
