Alex Niggemann returns to the scene of so many fierce releases with his latest weapons-grade stormer. The Berliner pulls out all the stops on this release – Tangram (The Bright End) is a burner that slowly builds and builds, maintaining just the right amount of tension and release. 

Eventually, out of the precise interplay of elements, explodes a huge euphoric melody that will surely take the roof of many a club in the months to come. 

The Dark End version is another beast entirely, switching the vibe to something a little malevolent- a techier workout that maintains the essential core of the original but provides a little extra drive to the groove - tough, body-moving Tech House for the heads. 

Maze also showcases the class we have come to expect form Poker Flat. Diamond hard beats, unhinged synths and an evolving groove are classic Niggemann traits, resulting in a deeply assured track that will see as much club play as the other two bombs on this releases.

Hailing from Tel Aviv Nir Shoshani has over 14 years of experience producing and performing live worldwide. As the A&R of Punch Music, Nir has overseen a plethora of high quality releases and his own work is no exception. Delivering a layered and deeply hypnotic sound that has come to be expected from his overarching body of work.
 
Ajami kicks the EP off with a slow release of frenzied hi-hats playing the loosely-lower pitched vocals against the infectious synth and bass-lines stirring the groove to guarantee a satisfied crowd. Next up we have the Simon Garcia remix. Simon has previously had releases on Poker Flat, Pets Recordings, Supplement Facts & many more. Using the building blocks of the original Simon manages to deliver a remix that bounces off the corners of deep house resulting in what sounds like the sugar to the original’s salt. The remix serves as a perfect introduction to his much anticipated debut album 'The Placebo Overdose' on Poker Flat.
 
Ending the release with “A Good Habit” an edit by Aeon label boss Alex Niggemann himself. Niggemann provides the mix with all of the staples of the producer’s signature sound that spans across the genres of techno, minimal to tech and deep house, all whilst effortlessly retaining the hybrid energy of the original.
 
“Ajami” is out December 2nd and it’s not one to be missed.

This new EP raises Niggemann‘s game with three tracks taking in heavy acid bass, chicago-house vibes and inventive, smooth flowing arrangements.

‚Lately‘ is a real stomper in the classic Poker Flat tradition. Haunting, acidic, modern, club guaranteed! Niggemann twists a spooky and funky synth line around a heavy old-school house vibe, complete with a thoughtful smokey-voiced naration. 

‚Madness‘ lifts the tension higher with a sub-heavy chigaco bass attack, 2011 style. Alex has fused the best of both old and new and found a new sound that leaves behind rigid sound in favour of more funky, warmer and totally fresh vibes!

The EP concludes with ‚Smash Your Face‘, a groovy houser that rolls wonderfully with more growling square wave bass and plenty of details to keep the flow nothing short of riveting!

Poker Flat Recordings welcomes back the ever-prolific Alex Niggemann for another speaker-troubling dispatch. This time out, the Aoen and Soulfooled boss drops a hea- vy–duty release that more than lives up to his usual high standards.
'Materium' is epic in every sense of the word- a sprawling, tough journey into analog tech- no – with a dash of house thrown in. It rips through the speakers – the crisp and aggres- sive production provides the space for grow- ling synths and atmospheric, tense pads. What’s more, the whole track audaciously dissolves into silence mid way through – be- fore exploding back into life via a descending analog synth line.

Julian Wassermann steps up to the SVT plate with an immersive four track effort that showcases his knack for deep tech melodies. A minimal bassline and synths straight from the depths of space lay the groundwork for Alpha, the kickoff into the EP. A subtle yet effective mood-setter, it makes for a great inaugural cut as the release unfolds. Title piece Aurea calmly follows, looming in with tribal infused percussion and lush, effusive vocals. Garnering an equally atmospheric mood, Wassermann aptly combines airy pads and dark synths into an immensely polarizing cut. People Are Strange dives in on a more dynamic note, centered around a solid bassline with alternating synth lines. Swiftly morphing into an energetic banger via punchy bass and ghostly vocal chops, the construction carries major peak time appeal. For the final contribution Imperia, Wassermann calls on the production skills of fellow Muenchener H.B.C. to create a radiant piece of spacious tech. Layering modular strobes and arpeggiated synths, their production styles merge harmoniously, resulting in a dancefloor-ready strapping groove.

Set off by a simple and consistent bassline, a tangible drum beat, we are lured into the 7:51 track with a steady grate of percussion followed by a gradual interpolation of electronic application. Complex strata of organic and synthetic sounds emerge fluidly and ascend into a harmonious climax, which with the brief omission of the dominant drum beat, preludes into the first vocal at exactly one minute. A beautiful interchange between instrumental and vocal and Stereocalypse’s dextrous play of diminishing and aggrandizing elements to draw on and draw out the emotions of the original track, are the vim and vigor of this remix. Through a firm and innovative control of tempo and complexity, the remix accentuates the turbulent emotional implications of the track’s lyrics, making it more poignant. WhoMadeWho’s provocative music videos are the icing on the cake to their music, adding the third dimension to their exceptional lyrics and sound. In their remix of I Don’t Know, Stereocalypse’s adds the right elements that bring listeners as close to an audio-visual experience as possible. Hence, there is no wonder that what WhoMadeWho bandmember Tomas Barfod identified as 'a very mellow remix', continues to infiltrate dance floors. Barfod, co-producer of the track had already said it best: 'It somehow turns out to be quite euphoric when played in the club.'

His ever-restless creativity and desire to build a platform for music that defines the deeper side of the electronic spectrum, led Alex to launch his very successful label, AEON in 2013 – an imprint which has gone on to play an integral part in building Alex’s impressive repertoire of releases to this point and beyond.
