„Don’t Forget To Breathe” was born back in 2019, in Berlin, at Âme’s studio with a rough idea from me and Jens Kuross, from that moment on I knew this was gonna be the track that pushed everything forward and set the tone for what “Fauna & Flora” was gonna become. Thanks to everyone involved directly or indirectly helping this track come to life. 

Special mention to Steffen “Dixon” that executive produced all the tracks in the album and worked tirelessly like it was his very own music and in the end it became. In the end it is.
It’s not mine anymore, it’s from everyone.

Thank you Frank for your kindness as always opening your doors to me and giving me an overwhelming source of inspiration.

‘Glutes’ is peak-time material without being overly fast or chaotic, the energy instead coming from the transportive arrangement and emotive melodic content. The same can be said for Bäumel’s ‘Surge’ on Kompakt, an anthem in the sets of Tale Of Us last year which led to this release.

The title track rises and falls, surging with wide-sweeping synth notes and a steady rhythm to anchor the waves. An infectious refrain pulls you further in and, right on cue, the kick drum continues to beat the sweet spot. ‘Engage’ is filled with similarly subtle details, uplifting arpeggios and atmospheric reverb. Half-way through the melody bursts into life, shining brightly through the haze and creating one of those moments of release that make the Afterlife sound work so well on a dancefloor.

‘Exos’ marks an anticipated return for Alex Niggemann, following his two 2017 outings, ‘Legacy’ / ‘Fences’ (AEON027) and ‘Serenity’ (AEON031). The releases on the highly respected Berlin based producer’s label, AEON, mirror the DJ sets that he is famed for, focused on conjuring up the spirit of classic and timeless music, whilst always pushing boundaries and moving things forward.

Alex’s first outing in 2018 is a diverse package that displays his customary variety of moods and textures. ‘Exos’ demonstrates Alex’s command of intricate layering techniques, and jacking rhythmic patterns sure to rock the most discerning of floors, building to a satisfying synth laden climax.

‘Array’ by contrast, adheres to a darker and more melancholic mood, building a haunting tension throughout, and driving relentlessly and menacingly forward at all times.

Yotam Avni has been catching many people’s attention with his recent outings on Innervisions and Hotflush. Here the exceptionally talented DJ/Producer provides perfect remix interpretation for ‘Array’: mounted on a deliciously solid groove, Yotam’s arrangement continually teases and surprises, introducing esoteric percussion and sensual synth flourishes to create an atmospheric alternative.

Celebrating it’s 5th anniversary this year, Alex Niggemann’s lovingly curated AEON defined by his ever-careful devotion to perfection, provides a distinctive vision. Underspreche first caught our attention back in 2016 with the release of their mini album "Invito Alla Danza" on Optimo Trax, a record that possesses the captivating mixture of ethno vocals & sounds with a raw house dynamic. From there they continued to impress with their unique twist on many prominent House and Techno jams through their Experiments series. We are thrilled to have worked with them to bring you this EP and who better to describe the record than Underspreche themselves...

"We think every kind of art has an important role in our lives because of the magical power it has inside. Positive art can be profound, produce questions, show us new perspectives, transform feelings and connect people telepathically. If this is not magic??!! Taking inspiration from Alejandro Jodorowsky's work we did our own “music act” with this record, trying to ease our inner sorrow through musical poetry and freeing our voice. Currently spotted whipping up heat on their own IMPRESSUM imprint, Fideles return to Jennifer Cardini’s label with this beautiful four-track bounty that leads with the epic ‘Brain Machine’. Juiced up with pristine Italo vitality, it’s hooky, addictive and laced with positive charm. It could just be Fideles’ most universal track to date (which is saying something)

‘Brain Machine’ is in good company, too. ‘Conjunction’ is a true cosmic trooper with a breakdown that will turn you to jelly, ‘Glasses’ is a dark and electrode rabbit hole while ‘Blow’ sends us home for the holidays on a flying carpet of blissful synths.
