Musician, producer and vocalist Alfa Mist has announced his new album, Roulette, out 3rd October on his own label, Sekito Records.  Roulette is a sci-fi concept album set in a dystopian near-future where reincarnation is a scientifically proven fact.  Conceived, written and produced by Alfa, the record also features New York rapper Homeboy Sandman, British soul star Tawiah, and vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kaya Thomas-Dyke.

First taste '9 Months' features Alfa rapping about reincarnation from the point of view of Yara, the main character in his imagined Roulette universe, whilst 'Avoid The Drones' is a hypnotically beautiful instrumental number.  "In my world of short stories, where reincarnation is proven and real, 9 Months explores corruption over different lifetimes, and Avoid The Drones finds Yara attempting to hide who she was in a past life”, explains Alfa.

For some time, I’ve been considering a new Soundcloud approach as I work on a follow-up to my last record. Re-editing is still enjoyable, so I’ve begun recording a fusion of that with my percussion playing. This one is a non-edit which features my overdubbed, un-quantized rhythm arrangement(the finger-cymbals are part of the original).

I hope it's a good example of what I’d like to do with studio sessions and bands.

The rising 23-year-old Brixton artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer's three-track project is an instrumental, beat-heavy search for zen and overcoming obstacles, both of the world and trials that are deeply personal. 

From Mansur:
“The name of the EP is Tesuto, which means Test in Japanese, which is representative of life and the struggles everyone universally goes through and looking at these obstacles and challenges as tests. The idea that no one is given an obstacle that they cannot overcome whether its a struggle that plagues a community or someone individually. This EP is my testament to God.”
