This short mix (which can just about fit onto a side of a generous D90 cassette tape) has been put together based on just a handful of badboy tunes and riddims from back in the day.
This isn't a typical dancehall mix with a new tune every verse-chorus; I decided to let the tunes breathe a little longer to enjoy them more.

The first time a|Fer_Music fired up music production software was in the late 80s – it was a tracker called ‘Music EDitor’ (MED) for the Commodore Amiga.  a|Fer_Music has been producing ever since, working under several names over the years.

By the beginning of the 90s, during the seminal days of the Hardcore scene, the tunes were starting to flow.  Soon after, when the Drum and Bass and Jungle movements started to separate from Hardcore, it was time to release some vinyl.  ‘Good Vibes’ – a Drum and Bass track with a roller of a bass-line – was subsequently released and included on the ground-breaking album ‘Champion Jungle Sound’ (released on Kemet Records – a label at the cutting-edge of the scene at the time).

During the same period, a|Fer_Music was holding down a weekly Drum and Bass DJ set on London’s Eruption 101.3 FM – a leading underground station of its time, spawning numerous successful DJs and artists, many of which are still active today.
 
A couple of years later, a|Fer_Music instinctively moved towards the House scene – a genre he kept close tabs on since the early Acid House days of the late 80s.  During this period, the UK Garage scene was beginning to develop, which is when ‘Rinse Out’ – a deep track with killer vocals by MC Preshus – was released on DAM Records.

Over the next few years, a|Fer_Music teamed up with The Maestro to create a diverse range of House music spanning a number of sub-genres, leading to the release of ‘Vivid Description’ – a chest-pounding dance-floor stomper – which was the Soulful Solutions label’s debut release.

2005 saw a|Fer_Music getting behind the decks once again on London’s Touch FM, playing a mix of Vocal and Deep House alongside old school UK Garage; by the end of 2005, a|Fer_Music decided to move towards the harder edge of Electro and Techno, which eventually led to a long break from production work and DJ work to concentrate on other ventures.


a|Fer_Music is now back with a reinvigorated his passion for good music.
Nowadays, 'genre' has little meaning for a|Fer_Music – if it feels right, it is right.
