Reflector is the latest single from Bristol-based electronic musician Alfonse, a track with a chilled-out, sunny vibe and quirky lyrics inspired by the movie The Martian.

Alfonse has been building a following on YouTube for tracks created solely with (cheap) 80s keyboards. Past tracks have had airplay on BBC Radio (6Music) in the UK and have been used on TV shows in the UK and USA.

The tracks on this mini-album were built entirely using 1980s home keyboards bought for less than £50 from a popular auction website... Each track showcases a different keyboard, with Splendid Larryo constructed from sounds from the Yamaha PSS-680, a simple FM synth disguised as a child's toy, and brushed up with some up-to-date production tools.

Uness - Lionheart (Alfonse remix)

All sounds you hear in the track were made using the Casio SK-100 sampling keyboard from 1987; vocal samples (from past Alfonse release "Time Over") were recorded into the Sampling section of the keyboard via the line-in port. Reverb and delay were added as required during the mixing stage. The drum hits were sampled from drum patterns, edited using EQ, distortion and reverb, and sequenced via midi.
