From the 12th century Danish marsh, Dagmar hears the 
haunting song of his love, Svala, bidding him return to their 
rustic home. But when he arrives, he finds her ghost hovering 
over her slain body, victim of a savage beast. Just as 
Dagmar is reels from the grim shock, the Werewarg attacks. 
He fights bravely but is ultimately overpowered. In his final 
moments, Dagmar's spirit rejoins with Svala's, their love 
transcending the tragic end.
