As Carson approaches Santa’s Workshop and peers through the window, he sees a beautiful scene. The shop is a beehive of activity. The Elves are busy, some running from place to place; others at benches, working on all sorts of toys, drinking hot chocolate with a fire in the fireplace to keep them warm. Santa is standing amid it all dressed in a work shirt, red pants with suspenders, and large black boots; he is checking his list and the toys and gifts the elves are working on. The Elves and Santa sing, dance, and work to the energetic and happy Working Song.

Here we are,

this is work for Christmas Day.

We must run,

(The elves sing with Santa finishing the run by singing “never snoozing”.)

Cutting, clipping, sewing snipping, painting, picking, tacking, wrapping, sizing, ironing, fitting, zipping, combing, smoothing... "never snoozing" (Santa).

(Then they go to another window and look out and then look at each other. The elves sing the second stanza.)

When you see that whiteness. 
You'll know Christmas Night is.

You Must Be You is the principal song of the musical and is sung by Santa, the Reindeer, and Carson.  

Carson has an interlude during the singing of You Must Be You in which he sings a small refrain from You Are My Portrait where he is still trying to hang onto his reindeer dream. He then realizes the truth and how good it is to be himself, Carson the Camel, and finishes You Must Be You singing to the audience.

The adaptation of Carson the Camel, a children’s Christmas story written by Alfred D. Sherer, Sr. (© 2001), into a musical stage play is to allow the story and the music to come together through the media of stage and sound and live performance.

The story of Carson the Camel is one of a child’s enthusiasm and imagination, a mother’s love, and the wisdom of someone no less than Santa himself. It is my hope to stay true to the central theme of the story which is that each person can discover their own special qualities and, in that, find an identity and happiness that is all their own. 

This DVD is a collection of the 6 songs from the musical as lyric videos that illuminate the story of Carson the Camel.

Scene: Carson is leaving for a long journey to Santa's Workshop at the North Pole.  His mother has reluctantly consented to let him go on such an arduous journey. As he leaves, she sings this heart felt and plaintive song, "You are Love to Me".

"You Are My Portrait" is the signature song of Cason from the Children's Christmas Musical - Carson the Camel.

Carson had a dream to be one of Santa's reindeer and pull Santa's sleigh on Christmas eve.  In fact, he believed so strongly in his dream that he actually sees himself as a reindeer in his mirror at home.  He sings this song to his "portrait" in the mirror. 

The story continues with Carson making the long journey to Santa's Workshop at the North Pole and finally, through Santa's help, he realizes that he's really not a reindeer and that camels themselves played a very important role in the story of Christmas.
