Recorded in February, 2000 (during a family gathering at my home in the background) with the then brand new Powerbook Pismo, my friend Dominick and I test the built-in microphone of this advanced laptop.  Dom comments on how fast the audio wave re-draws on the screen, and I comment "with a 10 gig drive, we can say F_ck for hours." It certainly is vulgar, but, 13 years later, funny while also making the point of how a 'fast redraw' and a '10 gig drive' was impressive to us back then.

Audio Test on Powerbook Pismo (We say "F_ck It!")

Recorded in 2004 with one take, I was experimenting with MOTU's Digital Performer on the Apple Powerbook Pismo, which had been upgraded with more RAM, a larger hard drive, as well as a processor bump to a G4, courtesy AdamB. This was nothing more than a software test, with the post processing of just a little added reverb.  This was recorded with the built-in Mic on the PowerBook.

I sang this in the late 80's using analog tape and a Fostex multi-track tape recorder. This was done with one take, for my mother, as it was one of her favorites. Due to the range, this is an extremely difficult song to sing.

I stumbled on this recording, from 2005.  I was testing one of my synthesizers, playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb", but with a George Winston type of phrasing and articulation. This only makes sense if you know of the piano music by George Winston.  For those that do, this will be interesting and funny.

MetaGroove (A Moog Baseline & A GarageBand Synth)

Recorded in 2002 with a PowerMac 8500 running Bias Inc's DECK program, the 'Flower Song' was written, played, and sung in one take by my beautiful sister, Debra. Prior to rendering the audio file, I added an ancillary track to put in some harmony (technically, just singing an octave lower), so presented herein is my duet with Debra!

A friend wanted to to go through some patches on the Moog Voyager and bang some keys, so that's what I did.  Musically, this is crap.  From a standpoint of 'interesting electronic sounds' you might find a very small spot between two time markers that, unique to each listener, sounds great. If you do find something, make sure you comment/tag it!

Something from my MacPlus archives - an early sound file by my friend AdamB, where he digitized a single phrase then manually tweaked it to work with the Blue Danube. It took hours. It was 8 bit 11 Khz audio. It sounds like crap. It's a little bit of early audio shenanigans on the MacPlus, using the tools we had at the time.
