Es war einmal an einem See in einem kleinen Dorf namens Lenz inmitten der idyllischen Mecklenburgischen Seenplatte. Wohltuende Stille erfüllt die Umgebung. Es weht eine laue Brise, die Baumäste wiegen sich in der Leichtigkeit des Windes und das klare Wasser des Sees plätschert langsam vor sich hin. Fernab eines kurzen nächtlichen Frühlingsgewitters wandert die wärmende Sonne allmählich hinauf zum Firmament. Leises Vogelgezwitscher durchdringt zögernd die Einsamkeit der nahezu unberührten Landschaft und aus der Richtung eines beschaulich anmutenden Urlaubsbungalows am Rande des Sees erklingen ganz leise faszinierende elektronische Melodien.

Vier Jahre nach ihrem erfolgreichen Debüt-Album „Dark Orbit“ (Mai 2009) und entgegen jeglicher Trennungsgerüchte möchte das DJ-Duo Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner mit ihrem zweiten Album „Lenz“ die Frühlingsgefühle musikbegeisterter Elektroliebhaber wecken. Bereits im Sommer 2011 tüftelten Alfred Heinrichs und Sascha Braemer - neben Soloprojekten und Remixen für diverse Künstler und Labels und dem normalen Alltag als international anerkannte DJs - an ersten Einfällen für die neue Scheibe. Um den Schaffensprozess voranzubringen und zu intensivieren, schotteten sich die beiden Berliner im vergangenen Frühjahr, fern ab von der lärmgeprägten Rastlosigkeit der Großstadt und den Errungenschaften unserer modern Kommunikationswelt, für zwei Wochen komplett ab und ließen sich von den sanften Geräuschen und den imponierenden Bildnissen der Natur sowie der Abgeschiedenheit ihres Bungalows inspirieren. Aus diesen Eingebungen resultieren bspw. Tracks wie „Sunrise“ und „Rain“. 
Der Plattentitel „Lenz“ beruht indes nicht nur auf der Tatsache, dass die Kreativität der Künstler während ihres Aufenthaltes in Lenz beflügelt wurde. Vielmehr ist auch der Entstehungszeitpunkt im Frühling 2012 namensgebend für das Album.

Einst bestach das Debüt-Album der Berliner Plattenjongleure durch eingehenden Underground-Techno mit vereinzelten düsteren Einschlägen. Demgegenüber erstrahlt das neue Album in einem erwachseneren, reiferen Glanz. Durch die intensive Arbeit in den letzten zwei Jahren und ihren Erfahrungen wie Inspirationen aus den eigenen Produktionen entwickelten Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner ihren speziellen elektronischen Sound - zwischen klar strukturiertem Minimal und abwechslungsreichen House - weiter. Von der malerischen Naturlandschaft getragen, fügten sie ihre Einfälle bewusst zu einem gemeinschaftlichen Projekt zusammen und interpretierten ihre persönliche Soundfarbe neu. Mit einem harmonisch-melodiösen Klang und facettenreichen, treibenden Beats wirkt „Lenz“ freundlicher, besinnlicher und leuchtender als „Dark Orbit“. Die große Bandbreite verarbeiteter Musikgenre, wie bspw. Soul und Pop macht das Werk spannend und vielseitig zugleich. Darüber hinaus befinden sich auf der Platte stimmgewaltige Kollaborationen mit den Künstlern Viviana Alvarez und Fabian Reichelt. Die zauberhaften, souligen Stimmen der beiden Sänger lockern das vielfältige Klangerlebnis auf, verfeinern die sanften, stimmungsvollen Melodien und runden die Soundmixtur des Duos überzeugend ab.

Um die Grundstimmung der Platte auch angemessen zu zelebrieren, wählten Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner nun als Releasedate den Frühlings- und Wonnemonate Mai 2013 und entschieden sich als Labelgründer von Supdub Records Berlin für ihre eigene Spielwiese als Homebase ihres Streifzugs in die frühlingshafte, elektronische Musiklandschaft. Zunächst werden acht der elf Tracks auf Vinyl erscheinen, während zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt das komplette Album digital bei Beatport erhältlich sein wird. Diverse Live-Auftritte und eine ausgelassene Record Release Party sollen zudem die Bekanntheit der neuen Scheibe fördern und den nächsten bedeutenden Meilenstein bei der musikalischen Entfaltung des Duos Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner symbolisieren.

Once upon a time … close to a lake in a small village named Lenz.

Pleasant silence filled the air in this idyllic lake land of Mecklemburg. A gentle breeze blew and the tree branches quivered to its pulse. Listening closely, one could hear the soft purl of the lake. A distant spring storm raged through the night, supplanted by the majestic rise of a red fire ball rapidly approaching the illuminated firmament. Breaking through the last shades of the night, gentle birdsongs pierced the solitude of the almost virgin nature. Emerging from a humble and picturesque cottage, soft electric melodies are carried through the cosmos to invigorate and titillate our senses. 

Four years after their successful debut album “Dark Orbit” (May 2009), the DJ-Duo Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner prepare to release their second album called “Lenz”. In defiance of breakup rumors, their latest stroke of genius promises to arouse spring feelings for all electronic music fans. In the summer of 2011, acclaimed DJs, Alfred Heinrichs and Sascha Braemer, had already conceived the initial ideas of their new album. In the meantime, the pair kept busy working on solo projects and remixes for various DJs and labels as well as keeping active international careers. Last spring, in order to increase and intensify the creative process of the project, the two Berliners expelled themselves from the noisy and restless metropolis to an isolated timberland bungalow. Leaving all forms of communication behind, they were delivered pure inspiration from the soft sounds and impressive backdrop of Mother Nature herself. An intimate bond was forged with her, bringing to life the tracks, “Sunrise”, “Nature” and “Firewood”, all of which evoke a vestal semblance, emulating the place of their conception. 

The debut album “Dark Orbit” of these vinyl jaugglers was characterized by penetrating underground-techno combined with scattered dark elements. In Contrast, “Lenz” shines in a whole new light. A prevalently more mature sound stemmed from their previous natural limits of minimal and house, inspired by their tireless, yet motley work in the past two years. 

Guided by the idealistic beauty of their setting, Heinrichs and Hirtenfellner knowingly combined their ideas and inspirations into a collaborative project, dying the color of their signature sound anew. 

“Lenz” arises more pleasant, reflective and brighter than its predecessor, fittingly named “Dark Orbit”, with multifaceted and impulsive beats as well as a harmonious and melodious sound. 

The new album, which is sure to impress and surprise, also features collaborations with the soulful voices of Viviana Alvarez and Fabian Reichelt and masterfully harmonizes elements of genres ranging as far as soul and pop to create an atmospheric melody to mesmerize every ear. 

In order to celebrate the prevailing mood of the album, Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner aptly release Lenz this Spring in May (2013). This nature expedition will be shot out into the spring-like electronic music landscape via their own Label: Supdub Records Berlin. The initial release will be vinyl only, endowed with eight out of the eleven tracks, with the complete record to be released as a digital album, available for purchased on Beatport at a later date. Various live performances and a frisky record release party are also planned to mark this milestone for the duo.
