Following the massive double pack compilation Eight Wigglin' Ways To Die, we return with the debut of a fresh artist, Faetch. Although a new name on the scene, Faetch's advanced take on harder edged techno is far from the work of a rookie it would seem. Four tearing club tracks here that contain all the ingredients needed to move the party into another dimension: firing rhythms, strange sampling, manic synth programming, unique sound design ... we could keep going. Faetch 1 is simply a corker and strong addition to the Earwiggle catalogue.

A label is a living entity, the kind that brings new creations into the world. Like any living entity, in certain points of time, it reaches new highs and peaks. Since its birth in 2004, Deeperfect knew many of those. More artists joining along the way, more amazing creations added up to the archives. East Berliner Alfred Heinrichs brings his flair for melodic techno to Kuukou with two robuts techno pieces, joined by label head Simina Grigoriu and mysterious techno duo The YellowHeads on remix duties.
Mini Me kicks off gradually, simmering into a full speed Techno smasher, with a spellbinding kick drum and a straightforward bassline. Heinrichs’s penchant for melodicity shows off shortly, as the melody uncovers itself as playful and sonorous, ridden with glistening arpeggiated synths. It’s a full on dancefloor weapon, with highly enticing dark bass elements.
Dreamcatcher shows off a lighter side of the Techno spectrum, albeit equally commanding in its bass prowess. Gleaming synths make for an inviting intro, swiftly followed by an array of assertive drums that takes hold of the lead. The end result is an oneiric exploration that embodies both light and dark soundscapes.
Simina Grigoriu takes on Dreamcatcher, channeling its darker side, adding oomph with extra crepuscular vocals in an overtly tenebrous atmosphere.
Meanwhile, The YellowHeads center their remix around arpeggiated synth arrays, with an emphasis on the deep, dark corners of the Techno spectrum. We’re greeted with hard hitting drums, an upbeat bassline and murky accents, all under the reign of a threatening vocal and overall cloudy ambiance, perfect for a late night floor filler.
