Ali and I first crossed paths through mutual friends at various club nights in Leeds back in 2017. We often met and mixed at after parties (invariably he hosted!) for many years after, and I was always in awe of his extensive and rare record collection. It was and still is a treasure trove of musical history, focused on dub and dubstep. In this mix, Ali's mastery of vinyl is clear, as he expertly weaves together the deep vibrations of reggae and dub with the infectious energy of garage and the raw power of dubstep. Each track serves as a testament to his profound influence on the local scene and his dedication to the craft. With servings of glistening ambient, experimental chuggers and everything in between, there's something in here for everyone. While we don't want to uphold the idea that the NHS should be viewed as a charity, after years of under funding and the scandalous lack of PPE provided for front line workers over the last few weeks, we were inclined to help in whatever way we could under the current conditions. We thought a compilation album would be a good way to bring people together and try help in a situation that feels helpless.
