Exclusive Laolu 'Many Faces'

As part of Madorasindahouse's 'Sound Of Sasaab' compilation Laolu's highly anticipated track 'Many Faces', which has already gained the support of scene mainstays like Jimi Jules and the Innervisions crew, finally sees the light of day. 'Many Faces' is a symbiosis of smoothly combined electronic soundscapes with traditional African vocals and instruments. The Geneva based artist once again easily masters the difficulties, namely those of finding the right balances between the right dose of chants and a groovy and driving instrumental. Catchy synth chords are sprinkled over a funky bass line and set a positive tone for the track, which - at its peak - is provided with piano sounds. Laolu created a track whose over-all arrangement aims to maintain the groove and soaks its audience into it rather than giving dance floors a hands up in the air-moment. Thereby the artist beats his hollow as he boasts with an authentic take can simply be described as 'cool'. 

Laolu's 'Many Faces' will be released as part of 'Sounds Of Sasaab' on Madorasindahouse Records on November 29th, 2019.

Exclusive Skatman 'High Zeit'

It's label head honcho Skatman who delivers Scatcity's last record of the year and provides three original tracks and a remix from Lauer to celebrate 'High Zeit'. After previous releases from Nandu and Ivory on the label, it's on Skatman to close 2019 in the same manner as 2018, namely with a melodic punch. None-surprisingly it's the EP's title track 'High Zeit' that represents the label's melodical orientation in the best possibe way. The omipresent yet modest rhytmical elements that form the track's basis float around the bass line like an acrobat over a tightrope before 'High Times' set in, and latter mean a rush of euphoria paired with moments of letting go Skatman-style. His melodic compositions, always provided with a sense of an 80s back-to-the-future-feel(good) vibe, have become the artist's preferred trademark over the years and, at the same time, vaulted Skatman to a melodic-trailblazer, who creates catchy sound-sequences. 'High Zeit' is no exception and does just what the track title suggests, it processes the synth chords into a musical high-voltage experience that is grounded by hurry scurring percussive elements.

Skatman's EP 'High Zeit' will be released on Scatcity on November 29th, 2019.

Exclusive Pontias 'From Nowhere (Ivory Thrilling Rework)'

With just six releases in and founded in early 2019 Récits de Mars can definitely be considered as a 'rookie label', but fortunately this status does not reveal anything about the label's quality. As the year comes to an end Récits de Mars drops Pontias', one part of Jules & Moss, six tracker 'OCD', consisting of four original tracks and remixes from co-label founder Several Definitions for 'Obsessive Compulsive Disorder' and Ivory. The latter took on remix duties for 'From Nowhere' and delivers one beautiful take that meets people's Pre-Christmas mood by strongly supporting their harmonious needs as well as the predominating feeling of melancholia. Ivory sweetly implements the happiness seeking vocal but at the same time reduces its appearance to enforce an addiction. A lush bass line in combination with gloomy chords that are again and yet again cracked like hazels from a nutcracker emphasize the aforementioned feelings and turn Ivory's 'Thrilling Rework' of 'From Nowhere' to one of these tracks that you want to hear over and over again.

Pontias' EP 'OCD' will be released on Récits de Mars on December 6th, 2019.
