Originally released back in 2018, Dense & Pika’s collaboration with Melody’s Enemy resurfaces with a bumper remix package on Kneaded Pains.  ‘From Nothing’ gets injected with new life courtesy of Luciid, Shelley Johannson and Dubble D AKA Moodymanc.

Northern Ireland’s Luciid lets rip with a thunderous version of ‘From Nothing’, and Canadian techno queen Shelley Johannson stamps her raw and minimal blueprint onto the single for a fresh 2022 take. 

Danny Ward AKA Dubble D turns in two refreshingly differing remixes.  Donning his Moodymanc cap, ‘From Nothing’ is reworked into a delightfully percussive and twisted house stomper, whilst his Autotélica remix deploys a rough and ready breakbeat and warming pads for a hybrid Tenaglia/MAW vibe!

Bristol imprint Idle Hands has had quite the memorable year as of late. In 2018, the label was finally able to reach their 50th release with a 12'' gem from Livity Sounds' Peverelist and recently capped off November with a record from London-based producer Parris. To finish the year with a bang rather than a whimper, Idle Hands have elected to release an EP from Swedish producer Pistol Pete! Although he isn't as well-known as the other artists they have on their roster, Mr. Pete has been a huge favorite of Idel Hands' boss Chris Farrell. Any time Pistol would come out with one of his records since 2012, they would always find a home in the record shop he runs in Bristol.

In his latest effort, Pistol has elected to compose a record that is primarily designed for the club and sets out to leave its listeners with a sense of warmth for those cold winter months ahead. Out of his EP Orphan, our favorite has to be the track titled Lundagatan, which is a reference to a street in Stockholm (Pistol's hometown). Throughout the piece, Pistol utilizes a chopped up soul sample for its base and decides to pair it with an assortment of energetic, drum patterns and swirling synths that manage to create a groove that will keep your head bobbing from beginning to end. After taking one listen to the tune, you'll begin to immediately understand why people such as Chris Farrell have such a fondness for the emotional grooves Pistol makes. We do not own a record shop, but Pistol's music will always be welcomed at Bolting Bits!

Some things are just not meant to be, but that doesn't stop them happening anyway, such is the case with Mexican/Canadian punk-techno duo ALI X x XIMENA who unwittingly crossed streams in 2016. In just the past two years the inspired and experienced duo have unleashed a relentless barrage of funky and skewed audio/video bricolage. Their first session together, along with compatriot Theo Magus, produced the single "Let's Get Naked" for Tiga's Turbo label, and what followed was an orgy of remixes for labels Nein and Roam, Bottom Forty, Wonder Stories, Phisica and Shara, and reworks and collabs with artists of weird like-minds Nark, Tkuz, Fausto, Shit, and others both esoteric and mainstream.  
ALI X is no stranger to the impenetrable darks and blinding lights having taken his former band Azari & III from the streets to the limelight, and his own extensive back catalog excessively demonstrates this, while XIMENA's vague history only intensifies the strange murk that enshrouds her, at once both fiercely hermetic and violently sociable, her internalized poetic meanderings clash nicely with her gushing DJ performances. When combined, the couple's punky 'screw-it' attitude juxtaposed with a funky troubled lovers vibe provides for challenging encounters rewarded by unexpected leaps of freedom.

The Welcome To My World EP shows the journeys Ali X x Ximena can take you on, from slugging bouts of confusion and disorder to the heart pounding grit of dark and cavernous dance floors, each track on the album from original to remix shows off the cool and independent techno style of Mexico perfectly.

Hailing from different places in western Europe, Luc Bersier, Low Bat, Leonard Prochazka and Ariel Garcia created this vibrant EP. Their synergy tells a story of creativity, freedom in sound and, above all, playfulness. Serious music while similarly not being to earnest. 
Their venture evolved into a very original blend of cosmic music, utilizing instruments that fit into the neofolk Krautrock domain, vocal experiments into French chanson territory, infused in Berlinian cosmopolitanism. Expect an exciting minimal wave synth punk orgy, punk definitely being the defining trait underneath these layers of sound. 
This is boundless music with attitude, capable of making us drift off and disrupt us in equal measure.

The planet was as much a living organism as they were, a bubbling ball of fertile unrest and unpredictable consequences. As the clouds rolled by slowly overhead he listened to their rumbling - it was ominous and yet weighted with such promise. A living dub, a noise and a drone in the distant skies above. 

Max In The World is a New York based producer and label boss. He runs Bliss Point - a promising imprint with a penchant for deep, ethereal electronics, dub and beyond. Max himself is set to release a new EP at the start of this year. It features an all guns blazing remix from Lyon dj and producer Sentiments.
