Los Angeles based Mayer Hawthorne and Tokyo based artist Shintaro Sakamoto will release a new split 7″ vinyl on Record Store Day 2014 (4/19). The record features Mayer singing Sakamoto's "In A Phantom Mood" in English, while on the other side, Sakamoto sings Mayer's "Wine Glass Woman" in Japanese!

Original composition recorded live with a DJ TechTools Midi Fighter Spectra into Ableton Live 8. In my kitchen.
Bank changes are done via MIDI switches mapped out to note ons and note offs on specific buttons (in addition to the traditional side button switch). 15 total pages/banks.

Vocal samples are from Filthy Frank, Skrillex, Dillon Francis, Deadmau5, Satoru Iwata, Bryan Silva, Wave Racer, and the Japanese mochi pastry chefs at Nakatanido in Nara, Japan. SHOUTOUTS TO THEM

As celebrations are prepped for their tenth birthday and hitting a centenary of releases – 2016 certainly looks strong for AUS Music. It's only February, but the label are already set to drop their second offering of the year. Huxley now passes the baton to two label favourites, [Marquis] Hawkes & [Timothy] Blake. Both made their debuts on AUS only last year, where the Blake-Hawkes connection had already formed on Blake's Stormy Search EP. The studio chemistry now continues with the collaborative Love Precipitation EP, consisting of two tracks custom-built for the dancefloor. "Flip a Coin" on the A-side sets the retrospective mood accordingly – elated synth grooves and powerful house chords on the piano, laid over skippety garage rhythms from the polished 909 drums. A big celebratory sound, straight from the turrets of AUS.

Love Precipitation drops February 12th. Exciting AUS birthday celebrations incoming. Stay tuned...

Widely recognised as one of the greatest and most influential game soundtracks of all time, STREETS OF RAGE 2 remains a towering achievement of the 16bit era. Data Discs is extremely proud to be releasing this masterpiece of FM synthesis, composed by Yuzo Koshiro in 1992 and sounding more relevant today than ever.

The audio has been carefully remastered using multiple sources, including the original NEC PC-88 files supplied by Koshiro himself, and packaged in original artwork sourced from the SEGA archives in Japan.
