Brazillian collective and party series Algol (@algolalgolalgol) releases their first compilation, Algol Vol. 1. For the occasion, we welcome the producer AVGVSTVS (@avgustvs) for his first solo apparition in our label with Tangerine, a smooth & dreamy broken beat track.

Commonly foccused on urban sonnorities such as brazilian funk, footwork, hip-hop and downtempo, Algol Vol. 1 bring together artists from Brazil, Portugal and Colombia to create an unique, multirhythmic compilation of tracks that resambles not only the streets of Latin American countries but the underground electronic music scene overall.

Premiere | AVGVSTVS | Tangerina [Algol]

The third track 'Cromossomos' carries as central-piece one of Yuri's poem, expressing transience through a construction that involves genetic and hermetic elements — outcome of a live jam on a fair Sunday in the ecological sanctuary 'Vale do Capão'.

Although the EP is inspired by the work of Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, The Scream, which reflects through distorted forms and the expression of the character the pain and difficulties of life, resulting in a scream as a manifestation of emotions, which certifies the work this young Brazilian is precisely this spontaneous organic feel that manages to transducer his surrounding reality in sounds, so rich in interpersonal history. In this way, Yabiru is also, metaphorically and certainly, the sound-box-head that prints the cover of the EP, a pulsating sonic source of creation, potency and otherness.

A terceira faixa 'Cromossomos' traz como peça central um de seus poemas, expressando transitoriedade por meio de uma construção que envolve elementos genéticos e herméticos - resultado de uma jam ao vivo em um domingo de feira no santuário ecológico 'Vale do Capão'.

Embora a capa do EP seja inspirada na obra do pintor norueguês Edvard Munch, 'O Grito', que reflete por meio de formas distorcidas e da expressão do personagem a dor e as dificuldades da vida, resultando em um grito como manifestação de emoções; o que certifica a obra deste jovem produtor brasileiro é justamente esse sentimento orgânico espontâneo que Yabiru consegue transduzir em sons pela sua realidade circundante, tão rica em história interpessoal. Assim, Yabiru é também, metaforicamente e certamente, a caixa de som que imprime a capa do EP, uma pulsante fonte sonora de criação, potência e alteridade.
