Brief: This film is a short part of Haniya’s life and the struggles she faces since her pregnancy and mother’s death. Left with the responsibility to run their small candle-making business, Shalimar, she stresses over the fact that she can’t handle the business because of her difficulties during pregnancy. She resorts to her habit of when she was a child and wrote in her mother’s diary. Her mother, Habida, is seen through Haniya’s eyes as a presence that helps in telling her right from wrong.
Habida shows Haniya the way by giving her examples of the one thing they both are connected to, candle- making. Using wax as a metaphor, the entire film plays out like a poetic representation of Haniya’s life.
