I am an extraordinary girl. Here are some moments when I was truly amazing. Do you remember, my dear self, when only two weeks were left before the Middle School Exam? In the first five days, I memorized all my history lessons from the beginning of the year until the end. Then, I started crying because I had so little time left, and eight other subjects were still waiting for me, with only nine days to go. I wiped my tears by force and started reviewing all the subjects

When one week was left, I heard someone say: “She studies until after midnight.” So I decided to stay up late too. I started drinking coffee to handle the long hours of study, until the big day came.

That day, I was broken—without feelings, without emotions. I walked with my mother to the exam center, thinking that life had given me the hardest slap ever. I could almost feel my cheek burning with pain. My brain kept making that “tick tick tick” sound. It was so annoying. It felt like, after taking a shower and wearing your finest clothes, a pigeon flies over you and drops its waste on your head. You reach out to check, but instead, you get splashed with its urine. That was exactly how I felt, a comedy of bad luck

Anyway, I did the exam without feelings, without fear, without stress. All I wanted was to do my best on the paper and leave. And that’s what I did. I gave all the energy I had left, focusing on every word and every detail in my answers.

I cried only once—during the math exam—because the last question gave me a strange symbol as an answer. I cried when I handed over the paper. Another student cried with me, then blamed me for making her cry too

Finally, the three days of exams, morning and afternoon, were over. That was the moment I could finally breathe after four long years of effort and hard work.

I went back home and ate the most delicious meal ever: meat, fried potatoes, and salad. It was wonderful. After that, I grabbed my phone and started looking for cartoons I hadn’t watched in so long, and then I slept the sweetest sleep.

I wasn’t nervous about the results like the other students, because I had already done my best. On the day of the results, all my relatives were nervous for me—except me. When the results came, I got 17.11 out of 20. Everyone started shouting, some even cried. But I just smiled and received their hugs.

I know no one will hear this, but I say it for myself—to remind myself that I am precious, and that I deserve to love myself as I should. Because in the end, that is what truly matters in life.
