On a quiet morning, I was walking to school. The street was empty, only my footsteps. The sun was soft, the air was calm.

Then, I saw a small toy car. Two children were playing with it. They were laughing, happy and free. The car was shining, like a new bicycle.

I smiled. I felt joy for them.  But then, I saw another child. He was sitting alone. He watched the others in silence. His eyes were sad. He wanted to play too, but no one asked him. Maybe he had no toy, maybe he had no father to buy it

My heart felt heavy. I wished I could help him. I wished I could give him a toy, and tell him: “You are not alone.”

But I had nothing. Only a prayer. And a dream: One day, if God helps me, I will make children like him smile.

From that day I learned: Behind every smile, there can be sadness. And behind every laugh, someone may wish to join
