And no cartridge to burn my skin…

I never thought about them opening fire
And I never thought I’d get shot

By an inhuman police sniper.

I, who took to the streets with my chants, brought down the regime
And achieved what was said to be a dream

And then, my friend Fouad was murdered
Khaled was murdered, and so was Rami
And Hisham was shot in the eye

I returned to chant “Peaceful.”
And I chanted, our blood is not for sale
With a bill of ten or a hundred
What’s in my hands but to shout my chants
I kept chanting; I kept chanting

And I said, O’people of Egypt,
I am the one who chanted “Peaceful.”
They said no. They denied me.
I saw blood again
The bloody scene has returned
This was the day Mina died,
Because he did not accept injustice again
And he decided to chant it.

They increased the list of martyrs and some more
Some of them were hit by a bullet, and others were run over
And increased injustice and oppression
And the march for freedom took a drastic step back
And blood flowed again on his forehead
And drowned his honorable Kufi
And again, for your sake
Our Blood drips for you, Egypt!


With all of that,
I'm the one who chanted “Peaceful.”
Down with all those who betrayed the revolution
Down with those who gave up
Down with those who stood
In the way of a generation that wants to be liberated
Down with those who beat
And Down with those who kill
Down with those who erased
Our story and history.
And again, my blood became worthless.
And spilled in the streets of Tahrir Square
It is useless to justify
And they said: you deserve it
But you know what? I deserve it
Because I was lenient
And to be for your knowledge,
Freedom is not served. It’s taken
No matter how much they spill my blood,
My will can not be broken
My soul is sacrificed for Egypt
But it shall not become a military dictatorship
