It's here!! I have been working on the music for this project for the last two years. I am so excited to finally share it with you! I really want to thank the incredible women and men I collaborated with on the music for this album, especially Imagika Om, Heather Christie, Tara Divina, Ixchel Prisma, Amma Li Grace and Theo Grace of Entheo, Liquid Love Drops, Eden Amadora and Ilan Gleiser of Amadora, and Chris James aka Pattern Disrupt, who spent countless hours in the studio with me. What a beautiful journey we took together!

About Feminine Medicine™

About Feminine Medicine™
The Feminine Medicine™ project is a series of collaborative albums and stage shows I launched in 2015. Every song on the album is a collaboration between me and another female artist. 

I set out to bring music to the dance floor that showcases the "feminine" aspect through many expressions and faces of the feminine. The music expresses a harmony of both masculine and feminine frequencies that is both danceable and sacred co-created with some of my favorite female artists. I believe this music shows how "feminine" melodic textures and vocals can integrate with traditionally "masculine" bass frequencies to create songs that are harmonically transcendent of any existing genre.   

I have been writing, producing and performing the Feminine Medicine™ music for the last 5 years, collaborating with over 30 female musicians, vocalists, and dancers to showcase stage shows at major festivals including Lucidity Festival, Beloved Festival, and Enchanted Forest Festival.

Volume 1 was released Feb 2017. A remix album was released in 2018 featuring remixes from Govinda, Living Light, Luke Mandala, Ra So, Spoken Bird, Wu Wei, Joe Muscatello, and Pattern Disrupt.

ALIA Live @ Unison Festival All Original Set

This is the *true* Nectar stage set. I decided to share both sets like I did with my Lucidity sets because they are different in flavor and I couldn't choose! :-)

The spontaneous sets are sometimes some of the most magical - I loved this one at the Nectar Village. As I started playing people emerged out of the woods literally to flow with me through this delicious set dripping with feminine nectar yum. 

I am currently birthing a new album and performance vision called "Feminine Medicine" so here you are hearing some of my inspiration for that. To me the Goddess appears in many guises - she is fierce and flowing, gentle and a force to be reckoned with. This set reflects the more sensual, flowing side of her. Look out for more to come including an all original album of the same name. Mmm hmmm.

Big love to the Enchanted Forest crew for once again creating magic for us, especially to Kumara Beija Flor Ix and Ayala View for the delicious Nectar Village offering.

Nectar - ALIA Live @ Enchanted Forest 2014 Nectar Village Stage

The Goddess has many faces. The intention of Feminine Medicine is to celebrate the feminine in all her forms featuring a selection of electronic dance music produced by women or our brothers who love to showcase women's voices, professional dancers that move the many expressions of the feminine through their bodies, ritual Priestesses, and live vocalists. 

The result creates a sacred transmission of the Divine Feminine that is also a very danceable set and celebration of life.

This is the first expression of a vision created and curated by EDM artist ALIA. I aim to showcase the plethora of talented female performers in the festival and Burning Man community and offer a vision for how the feminine value of collaboration can provide a platform for many.

The next evolution will include a Feminine Medicine album featuring collaborations between ALIA and other talented female musical artists and a stage show featuring choreography from a variety of professional performers coming in early 2015.

ALIA Feminine Medicine BM 2014

At Bliss Camp this year I brought together another Feminine Medicine set featuring my own music and a variety of music created by women or the brothers who love to feature women's voices. The live show included collaborations with vocalist Aleksandra Dubov, violinist HANNAH, and High Priestess Kaia Ra along with a variety of gorgeous dancers. 

I am having such a blast following this musical direction and preparing for the production of my Feminine Medicine album which will feature a variety of collaborations with other talented women.

Connect Dance Love Sexy Bass Set

This was the set I played for the re-opening of Sweets Ballroom after 4 years of closure post-Covid. It was an incredible reunion of 500 dancers in the space that started it all in the Bay Area 15 years ago. The dance floor went absolutely bonkers. Enjoy this sweet memory!!

"To Live Another Day"

This remix is a departure for me from my usual bass tracks bringing a gentle "sunrise house" vibe to Lee's enchanting vocals and instrumentation. 

Lee wrote this song about the death of his father and it resonated so deeply for me as I mourned the loss of my own father 5 years ago and my brother 10 years ago. I've found death and loss made me very present to the gift of each day. 

So the lyrics, "To live another day like it's your last, review the fallen ashes of your past, and begin to see the wonder of it all..." really hit my heart and I found myself spending many nights until 3am bringing this one to life.

I hope it moves you too.

The journeys are usually 2 1/2-3 hours long - this set is the second half of a journey so it starts pretty mid-tempo, works its way up to a higher energy section, and then comes back down to a sweet ambient landing. This song began as an instrumental (which appeared on "The Bloom Series" soundtrack) I produced with Chris James aka Pattern Disrupt inspired by our healing with plant medicine. A little while later, Ixchel Prisma channeled some lyrics for the song. When we put her lyrics in, it was as if the song never lived without them. The instrumental version feels so incomplete now. Ixchel's vocals and lyrics are profound and powerful and elevate this song to the full prayer it was intended to be.
 
This track will be available with the EP release planned for 2018, also featuring some killer remixes.

This song is a collaboration with the talented duo Entheo @entheo . Amma Li Grace and I wrote the lyrics about the challenges we face as women to open our voices. It has a swingy melody and playful beat with hints of glitch. I've been told this song has been quite healing for some women as they stretch into the uncomfortable terrain of speaking up. It is featured on "Feminine Medicine Vol. 1".

Our intention was to create a piece of music that is both danceable and devotional that takes you into the place between worlds when you surrender into emptiness and step into frequency with the Goddess. Inspired by the global bass movement and the sounds arising from the vibrant West Coast festival scene, ALIA's music is an evocative, lush journey into her own blend of bass-heavy electronic dance beats, melodic frequencies, gorgeous feminine voices, conscious lyrics, and sacred psychedelic textures. Described as feminine and fierce, elegant and gritty, ethereal and primal, her music offers a vast emotional and danceable landscape that unfolds in a pulsing, hypnotic journey that moves both bodies and hearts.

Since 2008 ALIA has brought her special blend of sacred beats to dance hubs around the world. She has performed at respected international festivals and conscious events including Wanderlust Festival, Envision Festival, Lucidity Festival, Enchanted Forest, Beloved Festival, and Imagine Festival to name a few, where she has graced the line-up with world-renowned artists such as Beats Antique, Bassnectar, Emancipator, Phutureprimitive, The Polish Ambassador, The Desert Dwellers, CloZee, Deya Dova, and many more.

ALIA got her start as a resident DJ for Ecstatic Dance which has bloomed into a global movement and she tours regularly bringing her unique healing dance journeys to Ecstatic Dance floors around the globe. Her original music is featured on the soundtrack to the popular documentary series, "The Bloom Series” and appears on many videos produced by conscious creators.

ALIA is the visionary behind Feminine Medicine™, a series of collaborative albums and stage shows that brings more feminine voices to the dance floor. So far she has collaborated with over 30 artists for the albums and the stage shows and she has released “Feminine Medicine Volume 1” and “Feminine Medicine Vol. 1 Remixes”. Feminine Medicine Volume 2 is currently in production.
