This is the intro to the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power," the first track of 18 in total. It symbolically represents the birth of the artist that encompasses "Another Life Is Another Story." 

We all tend to wear many different "faces" depending upon our environment. The person we are amongst our friends is different from who we are in the presence of our parents, children, co-workers, family etc.

In this story, these many "personalities" fight for control and dominance. The world we live in often makes it easy for us to choose the "least desirable" behaviors as paramount for survival but in the end spiritual wisdom must guide all of our choices in order to see "the Kingdom of God within you!"

The World Ain't Ready! Chapter 1: Rise to Power

The Birth (intro)

This is the second track (1st song) to the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power." As a new artist, A.L.I.A.S. believes he must make a strong initial statement to the world that "I'm Here Now!" In other words, he is here to aggressively take what he wants by force and to mark his territory!

As many of us learn in childhood, the world is based upon "might makes right" or "the strong take from the weak!" While this may sound like a reasonable conclusion for survival the truth is this approach is often short lived. We may gain satisfaction in the short term by "taking" but in the end we lose our freedom, family, friends and/or our own lives. 

Spiritually speaking, he who gives first is the most successful. There is a law of karma which is essentially "you reap what you sow," "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" or "what goes around comes around." The prisons are full of minorities who may have been born with "the short end of the stick" in life but we must learn to overcome these challenges while maintaining our integrity. 

Those who give create not only psychological happiness for themselves but they become a conduit for greater blessings that come through them. You can't give what you don't have so by the "Law of Attraction" we become prosperous as givers!

This song has many meanings... On the surface, M.A.R.I.A. is the next evolution for slang similar to Mary Jane, Brown Sugar etc all related to marijuana.  

M.A.R.I.A. on another level means simply the desire, lust or addiction for any substance such as women, food, drugs, clothes, jewelry, material objects, cars, houses, fame and/or power.  

However, on a deeper spiritual level M.A.R.I.A. is an acronym for "Mind And Reason In Action."  It is symbolic of the battle between the gross worldly objects and the more subtle spirituality.  An active mind driven by the senses is what keeps man bound to the material or physical plane of existence.  Reason symbolic for "God's Wisdom" or "Intelligence" is what we need to nurture either through experience or more directly through meditation.  

We should never become slaves of our "wants" but rather discipline the body and the senses to serve the soul which is guided through intuition by connection inwardly with Wisdom...

"Callin' All Dimes" is the 4th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" which is simply a tribute to all beautiful women.

In these times, we seem to be obsessed with celebrityhood and outer beauty as obviously witnessed by eating disorders, plastic surgery and the Papparazzi, however, we should all be well reminded that true beauty comes from within! 

It may appear to be true that certain people may be born with "universally good looks" but none of that means much if you're an ugly person on the inside. No matter what the world may dish out to you it is never okay to let that turn you into a mean or nasty person. Even the most beautiful flower will wither in time... 

Likewise, outer beauty will fade with age and time and those who are loved the most in the long run will be the ones who were loving towards all and who were simply beautiful because of WHO they were!

Callin' All Dimes

"For the Love" is the 6th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

This song is about finding that "something" in life that means the world to you! If money wasn't an issue, what would you like to do? Find that something that you're passionate about, consult your heart and then don't let anyone or anything stop you from achieving it. Let every challenge or hurdle become motivation to make you stronger and wiser.

Once you've made up your mind then don't let anyone deter you from your goal. Don't look for recognition or the praise of others but do it to the best of your ability because it comes from your heart! You are unique and we all have certain talents in life that make us stand out! Be weird... be an oxymoron... be misunderstood but mostly be happy and content with yourself!

This song is a dedication to the City of Atlanta for all the love it showed A.L.I.A.S. on the underground scene from the Royal Peacock, Blue Flame, Gentlemen's Club, Magic City, Visions and all the local radio stations. 

A.L.I.A.S. is originally a New York Bronx Native but Atlanta is now his second home and place of residence and schooling. Shout outs to North Clayton High School, College Park, The AU Center and Savannah State University! 

This song gives props to all the Atlanta attractions that make the city unique and reason it draws new "out of towners," visitors and tourists every year. Much love to Busy Bee's, Gladys Knight Chicken & Waffles, the Hawks, Falcons, Braves, Georgia Aquarium, Six Flags, local clubs and other venues!

'Heat It Up" is the 7th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

This song is essentially a party anthem intended to make you want to dance and just have fun! You can turn this up in your car and ride out...

This song uses a woman as an analogy to describe the artist's "love for money!" It is also influenced by as well as a dedication to the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson's influence upon pop culture and his music is timeless. He lived his entire life for his passion of music but also became one of the most charitable and philanthropic artists to grace this planet. Although, his personal life may have been tarnished with controversy, no one can deny his artistry and giving nature. He will be sincerely missed as an icon...

His leadership in the song "We are the World" displays his spiritual side and concern for the welfare of all human beings. 1 S.O.U.L. echoes this sentiment!

"Not Tonight" is the 8th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

The life of crime may seem glamorous from the outside looking in but "success breeds envy" and can lead to paranoia and constantly looking over your back. Even those you think may truly care for you will stab you in the back. Like Biggie Smalls said "Your moms will light that ass up properly gassed up!"

So in the fashion of Michael Corleone, A.L.I.A.S. goes on a killing spree for anyone he thinks may have done him wrong. This is a story of revenge, payback and "do unto others before they do unto you!"

Spiritually speaking this is the thinking of most people, however, what good is money or power if there's no one to share it with? Even people who have money still long for LOVE! And while it may be true that some would rather be feared than loved, it is NOT true that fear lasts longer then love. All the great people in history who lived a life of love are still adored to this day by people who never even knew them personally but they helped to inspire generations...

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, Gandhi and in the words of Jesus "for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword" therefore we should try to "love thy neighbor as thyself!"

The name is self-explanatory... This song examines all the horrors of the world and yet all the beautiful potential. God has given us free will to choose what we individually experience. "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he" and yet when we behave selfishly it creates an atmosphere that becomes self-destructive.

We live in a world of duality, hot & cold, rich & poor, strong & weak, good & evil. The Taoists call it the yin & yang. Hindus refer to as Maya the "magical measurer."

Jesus said to love another as thyself while Mohammed said to love the Creator you must love your fellow man first! Religions which were intended to connect man with Spirit instead they often become divisive. What it really balls down to is the "have and the have-nots!" The lust for power in the form of money is the true culprit which appears as political agendas, economic systems and religious dogma. This tactic works because it feeds off the fears of the masses and we justify our insanity with the defense of "survival."

The American Dream is the pursuit of abundance, lavishness and materialism but is losing it's spirit. How does one find the proper balance of comfort, well-being and health?

Financial meltdown, foreclosures, market collapsesand high unemployment are all part of the economic cycle. It's the ongoing battle of the "haves" versus the "have-nots."

"A Player's Love Song" is the 11th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

This is the story of the man who cannot appreciate the good woman he already has. Under the false bravado of being a "player" he gets greedy and engages in an affair with another women. Worse than just having an affair, he establishes two relationships in essence "lying to both women."

As they say in time all things come to light and he's caught in his lies. The two women suspiciously invite him to a "threesome" with the promise of more to come but after giving him a taste of what he could have had he ends up without either. They set him up and leave him high & dry.

I guess a bird in the hand is certainly better than two in a bush... But these are the risks in the game of the life of a single player.

A Player's Love Song

"Cry of the Streets" is the 12th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

This is the story of hip-hop music in its pure and uncorrupted original essence. This music was born as part of the culture of inner city youth beginning in the South Bronx and expanding outwards to the rest of New York City, the nation and abroad. 

Of course once the corporations recognized it as a money machine, they seized control of it by soliciting artists and finding new avenues to commercialize it for "mass appeal" thus perverting her truth.

In this song we're merely presenting the story of hip-hop as a girl that's been kidnapped by the industry and like good soldiers, we must go to war to get her back and bring her back to her mother - the Streets!

Cry Of The Streets

"Mesmerized" is the 13th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

As stated earlier this is only part of a story in this 18 track album. A.L.I.A.S. represents the spiritual struggle to survive in a difficult world of choosing right & wrong.

At this particular juncture A.L.I.A.S. is going deeper into the "darkness" of money, drugs, the fast life, partying, drinking, women and sex. The video was shot with a gold tint to represent how in the eyes of the deluded the world appears "golden" but as they say all that glitters isn't true gold.

A.L.I.A.S. will go much deeper into despair on the remainder of the album before something triggers him to have a "conscious" moment of reflection that begins to awaken him from the deepening hole lust for power & money.

Mesmerized

"Watch Me Now" is the 14th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

At this stage of the "story" A.L.I.A.S. continues to go deeper into the maze of power. Here he seeks to expand his reach by heading westward via his island connects with Jamaican rudeboys!

The empire is expanding and the money is coming in faster than can be counted. There is no regard for the people that are hurt or the lives ruined. We often see the glorious side of drug trafficking and praise the so-called "hustlers" and yet ignore the prisons full of sellers and users who will rarely be able to recapture a sensible life not consumed in violence...

Watch Me Now

"Rated X" is the 15th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

Unlike what the name suggests, this video or lyrics are actually NOT quite that X Rated... (Did you really think we were promoting porn here?) The video doesn't show any exposed private parts or actual sex. 

It is, however, intended to suggest the deepening life of worldly engrossment when there seems to be no point of return. As many realize when they've made it to the "top" that life seems to only offer the same temptations night after night - "sex, drugs & rock n roll" as they say!

We as souls even with fulfillment of material desires still feel a sense of longing that something is missing and we feel incomplete. That "completeness" we yearn can only be found in the Spirit...

"Me, That's Who!" is the 16th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S.

Who better epitomizes the "rags to riches" story better than Tony Montana aka Scarface! This gritty refugee in the early 80's rises from the grimy streets of Miami to become the drug lord kingpin. This movie, unfortunately, has influenced probably more "wanna be" drug dealers than any other pop culture phenomenon. 

Sadly, most of these inspired dealers fail to remember the end of the story that Scarface loses his best friend, wife, sister and ends up dead! The analogy likewise for A.L.I.A.S. is that the top is very lonely. When you've made your living via shady means it is a matter of time before fate comes knocking at your door.

They say absolute power corrupts absolutely! What good is power and riches if it is short-lived and you have no one to share it with?! Stay focused on the things that matter most in life - family, friends, health and love!

The richest man is the one who is missed the most when he leaves this earth...

Me, That's Who!

"God Bless!" is the 17th track on the album "The World Ain't Ready! Chapter I: Rise to Power" by A.L.I.A.S. and is dedicated in particular to Thaddeus, Frances, Roland & Alice Pyfrom, Terrance Vanterpool and everyone who has lost family and loves ones!

This is the last song of the album (not counting outro) and captures the essence of this journey. A.L.I.A.S. has started from humble beginnings, seeks all the pleasures the world has to offer, become corrupted with money, power & women and comes to realize that it is all short-lived...

A.L.I.A.S. will still have to deal with the karma of his past actions (next series of albums) but for the moment has an epiphany and begins to appreciate the small moments and times shared with family and friends. 

Sometimes the "hood" can be the most beautiful place in the world when there is LOVE present. While the dreams of "being on top" can prove to be a lonely world full of anxiety, fear, paranoia and competition.

A.L.I.A.S. seeks to close this chapter of his past and turn over a new leaf but simply recognizing the path towards greater understanding doesn't mean the journey will suddenly be easy!

It is said for the individual that struggles for Self-Realization, God's grace will eventually come but for those that don't... He remains silent.
