A lot of people who have heard me play live have asked me for recordings of that "style" of playing.  This is an excerpt of a recording I made for my God-Son in 2012.  It is not a complete work/song, and there are mistakes, (not bad ones).  So before you go sending me an email to let me know there are errors on the track--don't bother.  

Brand New Day

In the past I would not have even considered releasing recordings of this quality.  As I have gotten older... and my songs sit on a disk not going anywhere, I decided that some of my 'standards' may need some adjusting.  This is Soundcloud, which means I can remove it at any time, and unlike 20 years ago when It costs $500-1000 to record one song, a release doesn't necessarily need to be perfect... and anyway, I'm the only one who knows what it is "supposed" to sound like, and therefore, the only one who knows what the mistakes are.  That being said, I know there are some people that I know very well who are going to be like, "OMG, no he didn't," but almost everybody else won't really know or care.  I love the words to these songs and I want to share them with everybody!!!

This song is about that excruciating state of being that comes when you are waiting to find out if someone loves you the way that you love them; if they want you to go, or if they want you to stay; but moreover, it points to the fact that you can't say anything about it--you are bound to silence.  Hence, Here In "Silence."   (The version with words is also available on this page) 

Here In Silence v2.0

Yet another version of this song...  this one I recorded at home with a synthesizer and a multitrack recorder.  To me, it sounds a little "thrown together."  It represents what I would like the song to sound like...

I often record short ideas so that I don't forget them.  This song is an "idea recording" that is adapted from a song that I wrote when I was 15 years old about a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
