A preview to the plant science interviews which took place at Bangor's environment Centre Wales, as part of a bigger project documenting the current, future and outputs of plant science in Wales. 

Part 1- Background with Prof. Davey Jones

Discussing Plant Sciences at Cardiff University School of Biosciences, Sir Martin Evans Building. 

Dr. Hilary Rogers, amongst other interests within plant sciences, is working on the improvement of important crop plants for consumers and producers.
Plant stress and senescence mechanisms involve gene expression changes in response to these processes. 

Beginning with a description of her background and research interests, then going onto the funding landscape for plant sciences and concluding with the future potential and student involvement in plant sciences.

At the Environment Center Wales, Prof. Davey Jones describes his background in soil and plant sciences and how his interests have changed over the years. 
Then, the funding of soil science, described as, 'a golden age' is described and the successes in Welsh funding.
