Multidisciplinary artists Lex Rütten and Jana Kerima Stolzer alias A2iCE & BO3 are the faces behind Paryìa records’ fourth release – further manifesting Paryìa's role as a genre-bending entity while also expanding the artist’s respective portfolio. The debut EP Extracted Soil unites four enthralling tracks with broken beats and evocative percussions as the common denominator, including a remix by Mor Elian.

With this release Paryìa brings together sound, art and physical elements, conceptually working around the artist's exhibitions, combining different formats and creating space to break out of conventions and experiment freely.

Ousmane is a friend of ours here in Freiburg, where he came as a refugee in 2019. He first moved from the refugee reception centre in Freiburg to a shared accommodation in Offenburg. This year, he then had to move to Renchen near Offenburg. As he is doing his apprenticeship in Freiburg, this means a 3-hour commute there and back every day. Ousmane would like to move to Freiburg and friends of ours have organized a room in a shared flat for him. But as he can't give notice for his shared container room in Renchen, he has to pay two months' rent. We therefore want to use the profits from this EP to support Ousmane during this time. The overall donation target is €2000 so that he can pay the double rent for 6 months.

This is the first edition of my irregular recurring show on gatekeeper radio:

The show is always based on a vibe you get along the way. 
For this, I always invite guests to take over half of the mix, I'll take the other half. 

For the first one, I've gone for a pretty broad theme: Create a mood that you might find yourself in at night, on the go, in a city.

Therefore, I invited the multi-talented producer and DJ duo A2iCE & BO3, who are known for their genre-blending sound that traverses techno, bass and experimental styles. I especially love their productions because they combine trippy, organic and atmospheric sounds with percussive, varied and bass-heavy rhythms. After they performed a live set at our sympuls.festival, I just had to ask them for this. 

Not surprisingly, their mix definitely hits the spot, starting off atmospheric before becoming more percussive and upbeat. Check it out!

Jana Kerima is an artist, producer and DJ. For her mix, she has taken a little journey through her favourite tracks at the moment, starting with dubby house numbers and then drifting into percussion. It is an essential part of her mixes that tell a story, that the tracks connect and that you can lose yourself in the music. The mix consists of 50 percent old vinyl releases, which she combines here with newer tunes to create a kind of timelessness. Primordial Soup explores sounds from nature, rhythms derived from the organic, carried on in machines. For this radio show we are streaming a live set recording of Kerima. Based on field recordings that she has recorded and collected for soundtracks and music in recent years, she has developed a live set that develops new rhythms from organic sounds. Processed through granular synthesis and effects, together with a drum machine, a fluid landscape is created that repeatedly condenses and dissolves into individual tones.
