I wrote this album as I walked through an intense 9-month period of grief, anxiety, and depression. The first song was written during a panic attack while I was struggling to breathe and get air into my lungs. 

During the darkest season of my life it felt as though God had walked out of the room. My faith told me He hadn't but all my senses and feelings told me otherwise. I chose to believe and declare what I didn't feel or see. "I fix my eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen" became my daily prayer. 

At night the panic attacks and the insomnia would hit and I would find myself singing these songs over and over in my head; eventually the panic attack would cease and I would drift off to sleep singing these words. I had no desire to record such personal songs but sometimes God puts a command in your heart so fierce that you cannot deny it, and so I began to record the most intimate songs I had ever written. 

My prayer is that anyone who is battling anxiety, depression, grief, stress or worry that hears these songs will know they are not alone, and that God never actually leaves the room. It might feel like it, but those are the times to exercise our faith and begin declaring out-loud the word of God. 

Prayer, worship, medicine, meditating on Scripture and the love of friends and family got me through the darkest season of my life. And through it all I stood on the rock that is Jesus Christ, the one who never abandons, never runs away, never turns away and never shies away from the dark valleys this life can bring.
