Doh Beat Up is a collection of sounds recorded in Trinidad and Tobago in September 2016. It was included in the project Las Antillas para los Antillanos for Open Air Prisons at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE). Artist Mónica Rodríguez invited a group of artists, historians, writers, and thinkers, to contribute to the project by responding to Betances’ call for an Antillean Federation as a strategy to establish autonomy while resisting colonialism in the Caribbean Region.
