Original music from the short film, “The Wind Always Strikes the Highest Mountain,” written and directed by Yeej. 

“I wrote this song from the perspective of the main character Dej and it essentially became a letter for her brother. Half of this song was inspired by the original script in which Dej loses her grandfather instead. At the end of that story, she inherits a gold emblem necklace from him which inspired the lyric “forever gold.” Although the short film is centered around uncertainty and loss, I wanted to bring light to the fact that when processing complex feelings revolving death and grief - all we really know is that we loved each other. And nothing can change that.“

Fun fact: We went with the first vocal take of recording.
