とりわけミニマルなテクノやハウスを媒介に、横揺れグルーヴとストリップ・ダウン気味の剥き出しファンクを座標軸として密度の高いオープンな時間をひねり出すテクノDJ。 岩城ケンタロウ、真柄ケイタと共に大阪でのレギュラー・パーティ『tresur』をオーガナイズするほか、大分県日田のコンテンポラリー・スペースCMVCにてAOKI takamasa、yoshikiらと共に『re:play』を展開中。

-このミックスはどちらで収録したものですか？

AOKI takamasaやyoshikiと共に3ヶ月に1度のペースでre:playというパーティを大分県日田市にあるcontemporary space CMVCで行なっているんですが、その際にいつもステイさせてもらっている友人宅で録音しました。ここにはmusikelectronik gethain RL901Kという同軸スピーカーがインストールされていて、とにかくサウンドが立体的で素晴らしいんです。ターンテーブルはTechnics SL1200mk5g、ミキサーはビンテージのRodec MX180 mk1の組み合わせで、音源には全てヴァイナルを使っています。パーティ翌日のリラックスしたムードの中、CMVCのスタッフや友人たち数人と美味しい日本酒を飲みながらミックスしました。


-このミックスのコンセプトがあれば教えてください

— 事前に設けたコンセプトは特にありませんが、さっきも言ったようにリラックスしたムードの中で録音したので、普段のクラブプレイに比べると立ち上がりは多少ゆったりとした感じになっているかもしれません。CMVC、そして日田の街と人はすごく僕たちをリラックスさせてくれるので、その点が反映されているかも。ロングミックスが多いところは普段の僕らしい部分かなと思います。


-最近の活動を教えてください

先述のre:play @ CMVCではAOKI・yoshikiと共にライブセットもやっています。ドラムマシンやユーロラックモジュラーなど多数のハードウェアとAbleton Liveを組み合わせたジャムセッション的な性格の強いライブですが、毎回驚きと発見があってすごく楽しいです。関西にいる時も、なるべく3人で時間を作ってスタジオで作業しています。この3人でのセッションの成果は、近い将来に何らかの作品にしたいと思っています。
関西では風営法の影響でここ7年ぐらいパーティの数が全体的に減ってしまっていましたが、AOKIやyoshikiをはじめ古くからの友人たちと共にボウリング場の地下やヨットマリーナなどのスペースを使って自分たちでサウンドシステムを入れてletusというパーティを不定期に開催しています。あと、まだ詳細なアナウンスはできませんが、この夏もいくつかのオープンエアー・パーティでDJする予定です。

Kashawar simply put is one of the most underrated DJ's on the scene; his record collection is outstanding and his instagram video's always leave us in awe of "what the fuck is that rekiddd" anyways yet again he proves he has it all in abundance. This mix blends together a softer down tempo ambient side that only Kashawar could put together with ease.

Not only a great DJ he's a steady hand in the studio too he's been making hip-hop and trap as of late but don't let that fool ya he's no stranger to the techno/electro side either.

Happy to have a good friend added to the series
