Bio::

Marley Marl is one of hip-hop’s original and best radio DJs and super producers. In his prestigious career, Marley Marl created many of rap’s sharpest beats and hooks, and he continues to be a major leader in the industry today.

Born Marlon Williams and hailing from hip-hop capital Queensbridge, Marley is credited with introducing other hip-hop producers to sampling. He has appeared prominently at many of hip-hop’s important historical moments, including rocking with Mr. Magic on Rap Attack, Battling KRS One and BDP at the Bridge Wars, co-founding the hugely influential Juice Crew, introducing new talent on Future Flavas and producing LL Cool J’s ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’, one of the all-time great hip-hop classics. 

Marley Marl’s discography includes other legendary tracks like ‘Around the Way Girl’, ‘Nobody Beats the Biz’, ‘The Symphony’, ‘Eric B. Is President’ and hundreds more. He even put an end to his longtime rivalry with KRS One when the two collaborated on Hip Hop Lives in 2007. 

Marl is hard at work every day behind the decks, and on the airwaves. His Golden Era Radio show airs Fridays at 8pm on WBLS 107.5 FM.
