The present  music composition called "Alma" (Soul), together with  this poem entitled  "Seeds on Concrete"  and the miniature image entitled "Sirru" (Secret), are the first release of a collaborative artistical project called "Ilham" (Inspiration), based on the idea of taking advantage of the impressions and emotions which a piece of art of any branch may cause in a us and feedbacking such impression with a new, unique piece of art belonging to a different artistic branch.

"Alma" was scored about three years ago and re-arranged specially for this project as a feedback to Yasmeen's poem "Seeds on Concrete". Could be considered as belonging to a Neoclassical musical genre with cinematic influences. As such, the song brings, with its tonal center in B flat, an Arabesque air with some recurrent motives throughout the piece, reflecting a mood of deep spiritual yearning and longing for the Beloved, with an ongoing opening hope as if this Beloved One could be directly witnessed at times when the ego becomes subdued and the heart opens up, leaving free access to the treasures of the Spirit. The nature of the Phrygian melodic mode in its "Flamenco" variant injects a tension which resembles the different ways in which the carnal soul, in its natural egotistical disposition, resists the call of the Divine, ignorant of the joy of the meeting with the One who is ever desired by the spirit. The climax of the song seek to express the surrender of the soul, as the irresistibility of the Beloved becomes evident for it along its journey.  

This version is scored in a very minimalistic way in terms of instrumentation, having only the presence of a Grand Piano and a Hybrid Atmospheric Guitar, so that it may be a mockup opened for fellow music performers who may want to collaborate and record phrases and/or solos upon it, and for a possible orchestral version that may be written by myself in the future.


"Sirru" (the miniature) is a Digital Fractal Art piece which I produced using Blender software. An artistic  rendition of the meanings associated with what is classically known as the "SIrr" or "spiritual secrete" within the science of tasawwuf,  which Allah has placed within the core of the Ruh (the spirit) of every single human being.

It is a musical expression of the reality behind the spiritual poverty of the servants in front of the Real, which is an essential condition to experience the total manifestation of the universe within the Self.

I used again a single motive and developed many progressions along the song, and crowns it with a full orchestral arrangement and a little ethnic vocal touch from mid-east.

In this track I used The 8Dio Steinway Legacy 1928, strings from 8Dio Adaggio and Spitfire audio Albion II, Brasses from CineBrass Pro, percussions from CinePerc, Athmos from Spitfire Evo Grid, And the vocals from Tigris and Eufrates Library.
