After a massive year for the rapidly growing California label, Crisis Of Man kicks off 2023 with the second instalment of its annual Core Values VA. Once again, the compilation brings a swath of the hottest new talent on the planet, each artist bringing their unique brand to the label. Whereas the previous instalment had ten artists, Vol. 2 brings the total to 13.

Since the previous release, the North American scene has grown tremendously, which this new release proudly presents to the world. While 13 of the 15 artists might be from NA, 2022 saw the label expand beyond the shores to Italy and The Netherlands.

In the midst of a meteoric rise and a riding high of her recent release on Pig & Dan’s Elevate imprint, Amelie Lens returns home to Second State with an absolutely stellar three tracker delivering her signature sound of sultry vocals, cryptic atmospheres and massive drums. The ‘Contradiction’ EP kicks off with the title track of the same name with an enormous kick drum as fragments of Amelie’s lush vocals introduce a fever inducing acid line culminating in a rugged yet profoundly energetic tune, proving that less is truly more. ‘Drift’ follows suit and once again proves that Amelie’s minimalist approach has massive results. By utilizing a few powerful elements, ‘Drift’ dives into the heavy ethereal creating the perfect balance between tension and serenity. Wrapping up the release Lens delivers the most psychedelic cut of the EP with ‘Resonance’. Another masterpiece in the minimal approach, Amelie utilizes a simple shimmering synth as the vehicle in which to traverse a dark world of intense percussive sonics. Get ready to take a journey. October 2017 brings the next big release from Christian Smith, with his album project Synergy. Compiled of 12 original tracks, the album is a selection of collaborations he has produced on the road in studios in New York, Brazil, Tokyo, Germany, and Barcelona.
Tronic drip fed fans with two releases, first was Neon Jungle a groovy, vocal driven, funk inspired EP produced with house Legend Harry Romero, and the second a pummeling growler of an EP The Runner with Brazilian techno king Victor Ruiz. 
Christian brought together legends in the industry with John Selway and Harry Romero on this LP, along with current techno favorites Victor Ruiz and Wehbba, not forgetting some new stars on the rise with German artist 2pole and Drunken Kong, a duo from Tokyo taking the techno world by storm with their latest debut album released on Tronic earlier this year.
A special track to note is Jackin with John Selway. Christian and Johns bootleg Krispy Kranz taken from Laurent Garniers classic Crispy Bacon was a smash hit back in 2004, however, the duo has been collaborating together on endless projects since 2000 and have reunited especially for this trance inspired beat.
The album has something for everyone, variation is key here, with each track very different in its production and inspiration. Wehbba and Romero really bring some electro funkiness into the mix, whilst 2Pole and Victor Ruiz keep it dark with peak time, late night chugging techno. And finally, Drunken Kong deliver an industrial, minimal track throwing an unexpected but welcome addition to the 12 track innovative album.
